The complicated relationship between Prince William and his brother, Prince Harry, has been well-reported, although there are some conflicting reports about what went wrong between the siblings who were once so close. But have things between them deteriorated so badly that Prince Harry is not even allowed to see his niece Princess Charlotte on her 9th birthday (which she celebrated last week)? According to royal commentator Helena Chard, there would be no chance of a reunion for this special event.
Prince Harry Won’t Reunite With His Brother Prince William
In an interview for GB News, royal commentator Helena Chard discussed the dynamics between the brothers. Things have gotten so bad that she claims Prince William would not “allow” his brother to interact with his daughter. “Wouldn’t it be lovely if Princess Charlotte could have a lovely hug from her uncle Harry? But it’s not going to happen. There’s no way that Prince William will allow that,” she said. “Especially at the moment, with Princess Catherine still undergoing treatment.”
Chard also claims it is unlikely he will see the young royal (and presumably his nephews too) during his visit to the United Kingdom. “I don’t think he will meet Princess Charlotte, but he will meet King Charles. It’s a fairly flying visit,” she said. “Prince Harry is obviously coming over for the Invictus Games service of Thanksgiving. That’s one of the things we can applaud him for, the sporting event. And he’ll be doing a reading as well.”
However, Chard, like so many fans of the Royal family, still hopes that the brothers will be able to put their differences aside. She stated that it “would be lovely” if a reconciliation happened. She continued to discuss the brothers and how Prince Harry needs to “mend a few bridges.” While it’s easier for him to repair his relationship with his father, King Charles, things are more complicated with his brother.
It remains to be seen if Prince William and Prince Harry will ever be able to reconnect, but there are certainly people who are holding out hope that this day will come, and hopefully soon!
