With eight fun evolutions, Eevee is a delightful pocket monster to have as a companion. Once you’ve gathered all eight variations, how do you decide which is the best to actually use? Some are great in PvP, while others are ideal for PvE. Meanwhile, some can kind of float in the background. Let’s figure out the best Eevee evolutions in Pokemon Go, AKA the best Eeveelutions.
8. Flareon
Kicking things off with the less-than-ideal Eeveelution, Flareon easily nabs the bottom spot. It looks as cool as the rest of the variants. However, there’s not much substance there in terms of using it. It’s outclassed just about everywhere, and there are ample Fire-type Pokemon you can use instead. Flareon is always a nice Eevee evolution to keep for the collection in Pokemon Go and not much else.
7. Jolteon
In the early Pokemon Go stages, Jolteon was easily a favorite Electric-type. It boasted heavy hits and knocked out opponents with ease. But things rapidly change, and with those changes come more incredible Electric-types like Zapdos and Raikou. Jolteon doesn’t hurt to use in PvE, especially once you improve its stats, but it remains low compared to other Eeveelutions.
6. Leafeon
If you focus on non-Legendary Pokemon, Leafeon can only benefit your party. More so if you lack any other stronger Grass-types. A high-level Leafeon can destroy opponents weak to its type in Master League. It’s kind of a sponge, though, so use it to wear down weaker enemies and not as your finisher.
5. Glaceon
Not everyone nabs Ice-types in Pokemon Go, so Glaceon is a great Eevee evolution to rely on in this case. Save this one for the Master League or Gyms since they usually feature Dragon-types. Glaceon will shine in these areas. The only thing that keeps it so low in my ranking is that it just doesn’t have a big move set to play with.
4. Espeon
Espeon is the Eevee evolution you either like or downright ignore in Pokemon Go. It depends on how you want to play. On the one hand, it’s a top Psychic-type pocket monster that’s not Legendary status. If you don’t have any stronger contenders, it pays well to keep Espeon in the party for PvE and sometimes PvP. Otherwise, many fighters in each League can take it out with little difficulty.
3. Vaporeon
Vaporeon is yet another Eeveelution outclassed by stronger additions in Pokemon Go. But it still ranks high on my list. It’s perfect if you don’t have any other Water-types in your party. And even if you do, increasing Vaporeon’s level is easier than the rest. Keep it for PvE, and you’ll typically come out on top. But with its high HP, it can take a good deal of damage before fainting, too.
2. Umbreon
When you need a tank, you call Umbreon. The cap in Great League and Ultra League allows it to reach incredible stat levels, increasing both how well it can take damage and dish it back out. Umbreon remains one of the best Dark-type Pokemon to use in those Leagues. Give it a try, and you’ll have a hard time ever removing it from your lineup.
1. Sylveon
My all-time favorite Eevee evolution in Pokemon Go remains Sylveon. The Fairy-type only has two weaknesses (Poison and Steel), so it can easily tank and decimate other opponents in PvP Master League. Of course, if you have the likes of Togekiss, you don’t need Sylveon much. But for those who haven’t caught the more powerful Fairy-types, Sylveon shouldn’t fail you. Plus, it looks too charming not to use.

All you need to do is change your Eevee’s nickname and evolve it to get the specific Eeveelution:
