During the Summer Game Fest, Sony released a sneak peek of their latest adventure either Aly led adventure, LEGO: Horizon Adventures, but did Microsoft dirty by leaving Xbox out of the picture altogether. Now, the new game is by no means a PlayStation exclusive, as it’s going to be available on Nintendo consoles and PC, so why is Xbox being left out? Given how well put together LEGO: Horizon Adventures looks and how much of a turning point it is for Sony to release their game on multiple platforms, it really just feels like a big hit to Microsoft that they wouldn’t be included.
LEGO: Horizon Adventures takes us into the LEGO world to experience the story of Aloy in a blocky and colorful new action adventure game. With exciting single player and co-op options, LEGO’s definitely kicking it up a notch with this one, but there’s something a bit off about the way it was announced.
For as long as I can remember, LEGO games have thrived on Xbox platforms, my favorite being the Lego: Harry Potter series that really got me into Xbox gaming. Now that we’re finally getting a LEGO game inspired by the Horizon series, Xbox is being left in the dust. It seems a bit off, if you ask me. Sony definitely did Microsoft dirty this time, and it could potentially hurt sales.
Though, it really depends on how you look at it. Yes, Sony’s totally leaving Xbox out of the picture, but this also means that they’re finally opening up and releasing games on a larger scale, leaving their obvious exclusivity behind. This could be a big turning point for upcoming PlayStation releases, with the possibility of maybe being available on Xbox eventually.
