From its initial release to its turn to a free-to-play design, Fall Guys continues to dominate the multiplayer scene. It can be the most fun, stressful, yet adorable battle royale experience. But it’s not the only one. Cue Stumble Guys. Whenever someone mentions Fall Guys vs Stumble Guys, it’s easy to see how many view the latter as a ripoff. “Which one is the better experience” is the real question, though.

The similarities between both colorful battle royale games are uncanny. This makes the claims that Stumble Guys is a ripoff of Fall Guys even more substantial.

Fall Guys holds the iconic look in this category. The little bean men are charming, especially as you can freely dress them in dozens of different costumes. From collaborations to seasonal changes, there’s always a new way you can dress up your character to send off onto the courses.

On the Stumble Guys side of the fence, it has a similar look and feel that’s undeniable. However, the biggest standout is that they feature chibi-like characters rather than the bean fellows. You can still dress them up, and they’re starting to collab with bigger names, too, like Looney Tunes, giving you more customization options.

Despite it all, when it comes to Fall Guys vs Stumble Guys, the former features a more polished look. It’s no surprise. Fall Guys hails from a bigger studio. Plus, it’s designed with PCs and consoles in mind. Meanwhile, Stumble Guys started as mobile-only and was later ported to PC.

But we also must take into account the animations. Stumble Guys isn’t exactly bad, but Fall Guys tends to have clearer, more vivid, and more fluid animations.

Winner: Fall Guys

Battle Royale and Obstacles

The biggest culprit of the ripoff claims with Stumble Guys and Fall Guys concerns gameplay. Of course, both are battle royales and are far from the only ones in the genre. However, from start to finish, Stumble Guys does an excellent mimicry of Fall Guys. You can customize your character, hop into a lobby solo or with friends, and embark through a series of obstacles and challenges.

With Fall Guys vs Stumble Guys, the obstacles hold too many similarities to count. There are race courses where you must dodge swinging items or strategically use speed boosts laid out around the course. There are challenges where the floor can fall out below you. And only a certain number of players can move on to the next round.

Still, both do feature plenty of differences. For instance, Stumble Guys has kart racing challenges. Both games have tremendous variety, but Fall Guys only manages to edge Stumble Guys out. The deciding factor for players is how long they want to engage in a match. Stumble Guys tops out at around 32 players. Fall Guys can have 60. Whether you want longer matches or quicker ones is up to you. Otherwise, Fall Guys still holds the title when it comes to variety in courses.

Winner: Fall Guys

Community Involvement

One feature that allows Stumble Guys to stand out against the juggernaut that is Fall Guys is that it boasts tournaments. These let players score more in-game items and rewards. The tournaments with Fall Guys are outside the game, like Twitch-centric challenges with streamers.

But Fall Guys also involves the community through the new Creative Mode. This mode allows players to design their own courses to share with others. It’s a delightful way for the creatives out there to stretch their imagination. Even so, it would be nice if Fall Guys offered more incentives like the in-game tournaments to score extra rewards.

Deciding between two similar games largely comes down to personal preference. But if we had to choose Fall Guys vs Stumble Guys, Fall Guys is our winner.

The multiplayer battle royale scored its unending popularity for a reason. The designs are delightful, the animations fun, and there’s always something new to explore with the courses whether solo or with friends. The lack of a mobile port is all that’s preventing Fall Guys from scoring millions more players. If they ever make the dive, they’re sure to bring in even more fans.

But both of these are free. Nothing’s stopping you from giving them a test drive to see for yourself.
