This kitty has one of the most powerful attack tools in Zenless Zone Zero, the surprise effect. Nekomata takes advantage of her small size and lousy nature to surprise enemies much larger than her, although she is also well-armed with a good build and backed up with a team to defeat the Hollow of ZZZ. Be careful not to fall into this kitty’s clutches, or you’ll be trapped like a mouse.
Best W-Engines for Nekomata Build in Zenless Zone Zero
Cats need to keep their claws sharp, so the best weapon choices for Nekomata to sharpen them are:
Steel Cushion (S-Rank) | Increases Physical DMG by 20%. The equipper’s DMG increases by 25% when attacking the enemy from behind. |
The Brimstone (S-Rank) | Upon hitting an enemy with a Basic Attack, Dash Attack, or Dodge Counter, the equipper’s ATK increases by 3.5% for 8s, stacking up to 8 times. This effect can trigger once every 0.5s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately. |
Starlight Engine (A-Rank) | Launching a Dodge Counter or Quick Assist increases the equipper’s ATK by 12% for 12s. |
Steel Cushion is the best W-engine for Nekomata’s build as it is a Physical Attack Agent of ZZZ; this weapon makes her kit more flexible by increasing rear attacks. If you intend to use this kitten for Basic Attacks, The Brimstone will work more efficiently. Starlight Engine is ideal for all types of attacks, as it is more balanced.
Best Discs
The kitten prefers keen sounds, although Nekomata has a particular taste for electro and metal albums such as:
Puffer Electro | 2-Pieces: Increases PEN Ratio by 8%. 4-Pieces: Ultimate DMG increases by 20%. Launching an Ultimate increases the equippers ATK by 15% for 12s. |
Woodpecker Electro | 2-Pieces: Increases CRIT Rate by 8%. 4-Pieces: Triggering a critical hit with a Basic Attack, Dodge Counter or EX Special Attack increases the equippers ATK by 9% for 6s. The buff duration for different skills are calculated separately. |
Fanged Metal | 2-Pieces: Increases Physical DMG by 10%. 4-Pieces: Whenever a squad member inflicts Assault on an enemy, the equipper deals 35% increased damage to the target for 12s. |
Best Stats: CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG, Physical DMG, PEN Ratio, and ATK.
Puffer Electro will increase the effectiveness of the burst if you focus Nekomata’s build to use her Ultimate consecutively. However, if you want to get the most out of her Basic ATK and EX, equip her with Woodpecker Electro. Fanged Metal works with Anomaly-based Physical damage characters.
Best Team Comps and Rotation
As a cat, Nekomata prefers to work alone, yet she knows that to survive the streets, she will need a team. Fortunately, she already has a couple of teammates with whom she works purfectly well:
Premium | F2P |
---|---|
Nekomata – DPS Piper – Stun Lucy- Support | Nekomata – DPS Billy – Stun Nicole – Support |
Nekomata opens the fight to deploy her attack combos. She then follows up with Piper, one of the best Physical Anomaly Agents, because she will provide the two Assault stacks your DPS needs. Billy is also ideal, although he will only give you one Assault stack. Then, swap to Lucy, which is the best option to quickly trigger the Assist to return Nekomata to the fight as soon as possible. If you use Nicole in the Nekomata team, she decreases the enemies’ DEF and has some crowd control in ZZZ.
Premium | F2P |
---|---|
Amillion (S-Rank) Builds a machine gun and continuously shoots enemies, dealing massive Physical DMG. | Avocaboo (A-Rank) Shoots juice bullets at the character currently on the battlefield. If the bullet misses, the juice will remain on the ground for a while. Characters coming into contact with the juice will recover HP. The recovery effect can only trigger up to 15 times per combat. |
Sumoboo (A-Rank) Jumps towards the target and executes a downward strike, dealing Physical DMG in an area. This skill is good at interrupting. | Bagboo (A-Rank) Unleashes a series of slashes with dual blades, dealing Physical DMG. |
Nekomata takes better advantage of Bangboo, which improves her Physical DMG, although here you have A-Rank alternatives that are more accessible in ZZZ for her build and team. You don’t need the higher rarity items or Agents to make this minion an attacking machine that will leave more than just scratches. So don’t take a catnap, and use Nekomata in your team.
