If you ever wanted to see how GTA would look after being hit with the anime ray gun, now you can. Neverness to Everness, or NTE for short, is an upcoming anime-themed game that — believe it or not — mixes Genshin Impact with GTA. Many might think this is a far-fetched idea, but the gameplay reveal looks quite solid. Even if the market is as packed as a farm animal truck with anime-themed games, that doesn’t mean we can’t get new ones, especially if they combine cute anime girls with car chases, vehicle tuning, and a modern world to explore.
So far, the only thing we have from NTE is a lengthy gameplay trailer and a slick website. From the official description, players can “explore the futuristic city of Hethereau and handle supernatural-like anomalies”. In true anime fashion, we have a small yet cute lineup of anime girls with the usual tropes: the cat girl, the loli, and the one that’ll get fan art instantly. I’m not saying this in a bad way. On the contrary, the designs are amazing and go well with this futuristic town. Cute girls aside, though, the gameplay looks extremely fun and quite similar to what Project Mugen is trying to make.
In Neverness to Everness, you can explore a seemingly open-world city, drive and customize a vehicle, own an apartment, and, yes, use a glider. Furthermore, it seems NTE features combat similar to Genshin, which allows you to swap between four characters as you fight. Yet, there is no information about whether NTE will be a gacha game, but many, myself included, think it might be. If it is, I feel that might be great. As I always say, competition breeds excellence. Seeing another gacha in the market will encourage other companies to up their game. So, let’s hope Neverness to Everness will reveal more information soon because I’m digging this GTA meets Genshin vibe.
