Weapon Proficiency level in The First Descendant is how the game determines your mastery of a certain weapon. The more Vulgus you clean of existence with your guns, the higher their levels will go. However, this leveling system is not just a number to show off with. You can further enhance a gun by reaching the max Weapon Proficiency level and reset the process to further increase its power.
What Benefit Do You Get From Weapon Proficiency?
With every few Weapon Proficiency levels that you add to your gun in The First Descendant, you’ll increase its module capacity. This is the number on the top right corner of the screen when you’re creating loadouts and changing modules of your weapon in the game.
There ain’t no bizarre process of how you can farm these levels and boost your way through. You just have to play the game with that specific weapon and complete the missions. Sometimes even if you only have the weapon on you but not using it, you’ll still get to level it up a bit by completing tasks, killing the Volgus, and going on battles against the Colossi enemies.
The Weapon Proficiency level for every gun in The First Descendant starts at 0 and reaches the full cap of 40. However, if you want more out of the weapon you like, you can use Crystallization Catalysts and reset its levels in exchange for more slots to attach your modules.
Remember that farming the Crystallization Catalysts in The First Descendant is not an easy task. So choose wisely and use this item on your Ultimate and best weapons only. You should note that when you use the Crystallization Catalysts on your weapons, you will no longer earn an extra reward to increase your Mastery Rank in the game.
