HoYoverse has always loved the looks young but secretly ancient trope. Citlali is another character they have created that follows this trope. When you first hear their title, you may assume that she’s someone like Madame Ping, but that’s not true. Well, Citlali is a grandma, but as to how old she actually is in Genshin Impact, that’s still up for debate. This young yet old woman hides many secrets, but they are mostly embarrassing rather than dark. Since HoYoverse will never directly state her age, we’ll need to make some deductions.
Citlali’s Real Age in Genshin Impact
Unfortunately, I can’t give you an exact number, but I believe Citlali is at least around 200 years old in Genshin Impact. During your first meeting in Natlan, Citlali hinted that her true age is much older than it seems. She mentioned the common light novel trope where a character is older than their appearance suggests.
Paimon has even tried to ask her about her age, but Citlali refused to answer. You will get further hints about her age as you progress through the main quest. After encountering Ororon, Citlali will get drunk, and during her rant, she will say that it doesn’t matter if you are 200 or 1,000 years old.
Of course, this could just be a drunk person’s rambling, but I doubt HoYoverse will drop a clue this specific. So, it’s safe to assume that Citlali’s real age could be between these numbers. She is definitely older than Ororon since she was one of the people who took care of him as a child.
Although Citlali is very old, her personality doesn’t match those ancient sages with their wisdom. In fact, she often acts quite childish and self-conscious. It seems even though she has lived for many years, the woman has not let go of her childish self and often gets into embarrassing situations.
