Metaphor: ReFantazio is an RPG game, so your party level is extremely important. While you can adjust your difficulty levels whenever you wish, it is still crucial that you are not under-leveled. The game is quite easy at the start, but things get very rough once you reach the end of the game. Some players may even have trouble in the last dungeon. The best way to increase your chance of winning in Metaphor: ReFantazio is by using the best XP farm strategy.
Best Early Game XP Farm Strategy in Metaphor: ReFantazio
During the early parts of Metaphor: ReFantazio, you won’t struggle much with winning battles. It is quite easy to gain more experience as long as you keep fighting. My best suggestion is to fight all mobs that you encounter while exploring a dungeon unless you want to save MP.
You also want to complete all the side quests and bounties. Besides allowing you to farm more XP, you can also obtain various items and gear. Ensure that you visit the Recruitment Center for bounties, but you can also get a quest from Brigitta.
Best Mid-Game Strategy
The difficulty will increase slightly once you obtain the Gauntlet Runner and start exploring the overworld. Besides the main dungeon, you can also start exploring more optional areas. You can unlock these extra dungeons by accepting side missions, bounties, and follower bond requests.
However, the best area to farm XP in Metaphor: ReFantazio is the three towers. You can find one each on the west, south, and east sides of the map. The first one is located near the Port of Brilehaven.
- Forsaken Tower
- Tower of Insolence
- The Spire of Blind Faith
Unlike regular dungeons, these three towers have a simple layout. However, you can usually find Trance Crystals on one of the floors. Instead of destroying them immediately, I suggest letting it spawn more enemies. This will allow you to keep grinding for extra experience in a day.
Another trick is to upgrade Maria’s follower bond. Her Rank 4 and 7 rewards will increase the number of XP you can obtain after a fight. Note that you need to upgrade your Tolerance to increase her bond.
Best End Game XP Farm Strategy
While the final dungeon in the game is the toughest area you have to explore, it also rewards you with a ton of rare items. The difficulty will spike significantly in this zone, but these monsters are nothing compared to the final boss. Before you face your nemesis, it is best if you hang around the Tyrant’s Star.
While the enemies will regularly respawn here, the best XP farming spot is at the Melancholia Threshold area. You need to head to the bottom right section, where you can find several Trance Crystals surrounded by Golden and Platinum Homo Tentas. They are the weird dancing teeth monsters.
There will only be small ones when you first encounter them. Just keep killing these creatures until the big ones show up. They are not that strong, but they drop a ton of XP and even Hero’s Leaf of Light, which can increase your Archetype‘s level. As long as you don’t destroy the Trance Crystals, they will keep coming, so this final dungeon is the perfect place to grind.
Of course, since you can only have three party members on the field except for the Protagonist, the other ones need to be backups. Hopefully, you have already maxed out their follower bond rank so they can gain the same number of XP as those fighting.
