Lizzo‘s Ozempic Halloween costume has everyone talking. On Saturday, Oct. 26, the “Truth Hurts” singer decided to kick off the holiday early by debuting her unusual costume this year. In a series of Instagram posts, Lizzo shared photos of herself dressed up as Ozempic. Yes, the weight loss drug. Since she’s repeatedly been accused of using Ozempic to achieve a slimmer figure, fans called her costume the ultimate clapback to her haters.
Fans Go Wild Over Lizzo’s Ozempic Halloween Costume
“Ok Halloween… you can start now 😜,” Lizzo wrote alongside a photo of her donning an Ozempic box featuring her name. The pop star accessorized with white heels and a yellow measuring tape that she used as a makeshift belt. She even went the extra mile by creating a fake ad to go along with her Halloween costume. “Need self love? Try Lizzo!” her poster read.
Lizzo’s Ozempic Halloween costume is a reference to the South Park special “The End of Obesity.” During the episode, the show’s main character, Eric Cartman, visits a doctor. He hopes to get prescribed Ozempic for weight loss. Since he can’t afford it, his doctor writes him a prescription for Lizzo instead.
In a follow-up post, Lizzo danced alongside a cardboard cutout of Eric Cartman as a fake medication commercial from “The End of Obesity” played in the background. “FDA-approved Lizzo makes you feel good about your weight, and it costs 90 percent less than Ozempic,” the clip said.
Lizzo’s Ozempic Halloween costume is a clear clapback to the South Park episode. However, it also appears to be a response to the recent allegations made toward the singer. Since she’s lost weight, some people have accused her new figure of being a result of Ozempic, but Lizzo has credited her transformation to exercise.
Even though not everyone is convinced her weight loss was achieved naturally, it seems Lizzo couldn’t care less of others’ opinions of her as she continues to troll the internet.
