Xenoblade Chronicles X is getting a remaster for the Switch and it is coming out in early 2025. The original game came out on the Wii U back in 2015 and will likely get a lot more players on the Nintendo Switch because of its success compared to the previous console. The remaster is called Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, and it is going to come with improved graphics, and new story elements, among other additions, according to Nintendo.

The remaster of Xenoblade Chronicles X, now called the Definitive Edition, will come out on the Nintendo Switch only on March 20, 2025. According to the Japanese platform holder, this game will put you in a standalone sci-fi story, with the new version containing even more content.

The original was developed by Monolith Soft and was published by Nintendo, and later got two sequels for the Switch. The first came out in 2017, and the second one came out in 2022. The series is still going strong, so the purpose of this remaster is to allow players to experience more of the series on a single platform.

The game was stranded on the Wii U for a very long time, and since the console wasn’t that successful, most people missed out on it. Nintendo has been porting Wii U games to Switch to make sure more people get to play them now.

We have had some news about the Nintendo Switch 2, and remasters at such a late stage likely means these will also be available on the new console. So far we have seen some leaked images of the device, and have found out that it will be as powerful as a PlayStation 4 Pro. The Nintendo Switch likely only has another year left, even if it is still selling quite well in comparison to other consoles from Sony or Microsoft.
