It seems this time, Barkley has possibly met his match. Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Reddick fired back at Charles after his comments regarding The Lakers organization. Can Reddick and the Lakers drown out the outside noise and get things back on track? Or will they let Barkely’s comments weigh in their minds?
According to Athlon Sports, the small beef between JJ Reddick and Charles Barkley goes back a few days. It seems to have begun after Reddick was asked about the NBA’s viewership issues. When JJ responded with one of his usual wordy responses. Reddit stated that he can not pin down one singular reason for the viewership issues. However, one thing that did come to JJ’s mind was the number of three-pointers being shot. This is similar to what the media, including Barkley, went in on LeBron James for saying.

Reddick’s shots fired back at Charles, while slightly unprofessional, were fairly harmless. JJ stated that, “If you come at The King (LeBron James), you best not miss.” This stems from Barkley allegedly blaming the players and coaches for the three-point shot situation. While ratings may be down, the modern NBA is one that revolves around the three-ball. Some might find it boring. However, it is just the way the game is played now.
JJ Reddick is currently serving his first season as the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. So far, L.A. is off to a mediocre start to the season. However, despite that, LeBron James has been on a tear. James turned 40 years old just about a week ago. However, The King just passed Michael Jordan for most 30-point games in NBA history.
Reddick is not one to take any kind of trash talk. Rather if it’s directed at him or his team. While L.A. might be struggling to win games or get any kind of momentum, in his first gig as a head coach, JJ Reddick is keeping the ship afloat on the West Coast.
