Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are arguably one of the most fascinating celebrity pairings and are the subject of constant rumors and reports. It is no secret that Swift is a megastar, and anyone she dates would automatically be thrust into the limelight: her legion of loyal fans are incredibly invested in her life, but a recent report claiming she has plans to make her boyfriend a billionaire makes it impossible for us not to do an eye-roll.
Kelce is no average guy, and although his name has been in the media much more since he first started dating the “Cruel Summer” singer (and yes, he has become better known to a broader audience, especially those not necessarily interested in sports), it would be unfair to claim that their relationship determines his success. Or that Swift is so fickle that she would only want to date someone who has a net worth similar to hers!

So, what exactly did the RadarOnline report claim? According to the outlet, Swift has big plans for the future, including pushing her man to accumulate more wealth. A source claims she wants them to be on a “level playing field.” As for how they can achieve this? Working together on new ventures could be a possibility.
“Both Taylor and Travis are being flooded with offers, from endorsement deals to personal appearances, the opportunities are rolling in,” an insider shared. “They’re seriously considering teaming up on some of them. Then, of course, there’s the biggest collaboration of all…an engagement and wedding.”
The source also claimed they can accomplish unlimited things together, adding, “Anything they do is a surefire money-spinner and Taylor will do all she can to help because she realizes how important it is for them to be on a level playing field financially.”
Why The Thought Of Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce Collaborating Is Silly
From a financial viewpoint, this makes a lot of sense. We have seen celebrity couples who worked together to build empires or join forces for good PR, but Swift and Kelce have not done that, so the thought of them suddenly changing their relationship dynamic for some quick cash is absurd. The pair has been incredibly protective of their coupling, keeping it out of the media (mostly) and not collaborating or discussing their romance. So, why change something that is working?! Well, we don’t think they will, and if we look back at their relationship, there have been no signs to suggest that they are together for anything other than adoring each other.
The pair were first linked in September 2023, when Swift was spotted at several of Kelce’s games. The Kansas City Chiefs football player and the “Love Story” singer were seen holding hands in October 2023, seemingly confirming their relationship status, and from this moment on, their relationship has gone from strength to strength. Throughout their coupling, they have proven that they are serious about each other and also incredibly supportive (Kelce attended several dates on Swift’s Eras Tour, and she supported him by attending his games, including his Super Bowl win (making it his third in four years: having won the Super Bowl LIV, Super Bowl LVII, and Super Bowl LVIII).
Here’s Why Travis Kelce Was Somebody Long Before He Met Taylor Swift
Another thing we have to note is how the report essentially claims that Taylor Swift wants Travis Kelce to be more prosperous. Swift is worth an impressive $1.6 billion, and while Kelce’s fortune pales in comparison, a cool $90 million is not pocket change! But how did he get to this point? Believe us when we tell you it was not all with Swift’s help, and it’s a tad insulting to discount his many achievements and reduce them to numbers in his bank account.
Kelce, a tight end, is a serious sportsman who deserves the recognition he has received for his sporting achievements. No one can deny that his social media presence has increased since he started dating Swift. And yes, he has landed some lucrative deals, including hosting Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? and winning awards for the New Heights podcast he created with his brother Jason Kelce.
But who is to say this would not have happened without his relationship? Travis was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013. Before this, he played college football at the University of Cincinnati and is praised for his skills on the field. This is a career path that began long before meeting Swift.
“I’m not going to lie to myself. I’m going to look at the film. I’m going to look at the stats. I’m going to look at where my team is compared to everyone else, and I’m going to say, am I the best?” he told GQ in 2017. “I think I’m the best tight end in the game.”
He Is Not Just A Household Name For NFL Fans
Some may argue that Kelce would only be known to NFL fans if he were not dating Swift. Well, what about his venture into reality TV in 2016? Kelce was part of the E! dating show Catching Kelce. This suggests that TV networks and the entertainment industry were taking note of his marketability for years before he started dating the world’s biggest pop star.
It’s entirely possible Kelce would continue to branch into the entertainment industry without her help, but yes, his relationship may be accelerating his speed of success. Even so, reflecting on the report about Swift’s alleged “plans” to make her man richer, do we really believe that she is so concerned about his net worth that she would sacrifice their relationship (which appears to be going incredibly well) to increase their incomes? We do not!
Sure, she has used her exes as the best writing material, but she has also been burned before, and if this relationship is the end game we think it is, a shift will do everyone some good. So, as much as we would love to see more of these Hollywood sweethearts, we don’t want them to leverage their love for a paycheck!
