EA & DICE Accused of ‘Using Pictures from Attacks on Gaza’ for New Battlefield 2025 Game

Battlefield 6 or the new Battlefield game reportedly slated for 2025 has come under fire recently after Twitter or X has accused its developers of using real-life war photos from Gaza, Palestine for the game’s poster.

The information came from a couple of X users who had similar observations and suggestions. X users EmadAlden and DANNYonPC have pointed out that the explosion, smoke, and building look like it was suspiciously cropped and transposed onto the Battlefield 2025 poster.

I appreciate all the support on my last concept, I'm working on another concept inspired by BF4 but in the meantime, look what I found :) pic.twitter.com/3rBPxUG5nL

To make matters worse, some have pointed out that the bombing photo that DICE or EA has supposedly used for the Battlefield poster was too recent. The Gaza bombing photo was from Reuters’ May 2021 picture where Israeli forces performed air strikes on buildings in the Gaza Strip in Palestine.

Damn, DICE is using pictures from attacks on Gaza in their BF2025 artwork.. pic.twitter.com/JRb137Jv0C

Meanwhile, X user EmadAlden, an artist himself, has explained that sometimes artists have tight deadlines and schedules and need to produce content as fast as possible. So he suggested that it’s possible one of the poster’s artists for Battlefield just Googled an explosion for reference and the Gaza attack popped up.

Looking at the side-by-side comparisons, the resemblance is a little too identical. Some X users have argued that using imagery of real war in a realistic war video game like Battlefield is normal. Others have retorted that the war between Israel and Palestine is still ongoing and perhaps not something companies should profit from (excluding weapons manufacturers, of course).

So far, neither EA nor DICE has commented on the matter, according to Insider Gaming. News about the upcoming Battlefield game has been sparse. However, the publishers are apparently, targeting a tentative October 2025 release date. This release window could be pushed further back since so far, there have been no gameplay showcases for the new Battlefield game yet.
