Donald Trump has once again set a new precedent. On Sunday, the commander-in-chief showed up at the 2025 Super Bowl game to watch the Kansas City Chiefs go against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Shortly before the Super Bowl kicked off, Trump arrived at Caesar’s Superdome in all his pomp and pageantry. The president was seen roaming the sidelines and waving to the crowd dressed in his signature navy blue suit and red tie. Important Trump family members accompanied the world leader for the unusual visit. Daughter Ivanka Trump and son Eric Trump walked close to their father’s presidential entourage. Also present was one of Donald Trump’s grandsons as well as Eric’s wife, Lara Trump.
First daughter Ivanka opted for a polished look comprising a white waistcoat paired with matching pants. She accessorized with a medium-sized brown belt that cinched her waist and a two-toned midi bag. Earlier this week, it was reported that the 47th president would attend the monumental game in person.
It is the first time in history that a sitting president has ever attended the Super Bowl. As a result, the security of the stadium was beefed up to the maximum to ensure the utmost safety of the world leader.
Donald Trump Gets Applause During National Anthem
Donald Trump’s presence at the Super Bowl was speculated to spark boos from the crowd. However, the reverse was the case. While Jon Batiste gave a jazz rendition of the anthem, the camera showed President Trump giving a salute. The crowd of New Orleans wasted no time erupting in cheers. He kept a straight face during the round of applause, while Ivanka, seated next to him, smiled slightly.
“Huge ovation for Donald Trump at the Super Bowl,” one fan gushed on X.
“I have to say the crowd went crazy when they showed Trump during the national anthem,” a second fan penned.
Despite only spending a few weeks in office, Trump made it a priority to attend the game, perhaps due to its importance. If the Chiefs defeat the Eagles, they will be the first team in NFL history to win the Super Bowl three years in a row. Unsurprisingly, Trump would want to associate himself with such a feat. In a pre-game interview with Bret Baier of Fox News, the Republican voiced his support for the Chiefs to win the championship.
“I’m a big fan of both teams. They’re so different. I guess you have to say that when a quarterback wins as much as this one [Patrick Mahomes], I have to go with Kansas City.”
Time will tell if Donald Trump’s presence is a winning charm for the beloved NFL team.
