Jay-Z and Sean Diddy Combs feel vindicated after they scored a huge legal win on Friday. In a bizarre twist of events, the former teen rape accuser’s lawsuit has been dismissed.
Shawn Carter, known professionally as Jay-Z, took to social media to release a celebratory statement. The lawsuit against Jay-Z and Sean Diddy Combs has been suddenly dropped.
The accuser, known only as Jane Doe filed a suit in December. Doe reportedly claimed that in 2000, at the age of 13, Diddy and Jay-Z allegedly drugged her drink and raped her during an MTV Video Music Awards after-party.
Radar Online reports that Jay-Z claimed his innocence throughout the allegations. He called the allegations “appalling” against him and the disgraced music mogul.
“Today is a victory. The frivolous, fictitious, and appalling allegations have been dismissed. This civil suit was without merit and never going anywhere. The fictional tale they created was laughable if not for the seriousness of the claims. I would not wish this experience on anyone. The trauma that my wife, my children, my loved ones, and I have endured can never be dismissed.”
The case is now listed as a voluntary dismissal, and the alleged victim’s team of legal representatives has dropped it. Court documents state that attorneys Tony Buzbee and Antigone Curis “hereby gives notice that the above-captioned Action is voluntarily dismissed, with prejudice.”
