Taylor Swift and Blake Lively have a long history when it comes to their friendship. The duo were once the best of friends. They were even so close that the singer was named godmother to Lively’s children, whom she shares with actor Ryan Reynolds. However, following the controversy surrounding Lively’s lawsuit with her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni, things have changed. Taylor and Blake are now taking time apart and the singer is said to be re-evaluating their relationship.
According to Page Six sources, Taylor Swift is very upset about the information that has come to light amid Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit drama. It’s been alleged that Lively used her friendship with Swift as a power move to get what she wanted during the production of the film. She even allegedly threatened to pull Swift’s song from the movie. There have also been leaked text messages in which Blake called Taylor one of her “dragons.”
Swift allegedly didn’t appreciate her name being involved with the scandal. She then reportedly decided to take a major step back from her friendship with Lively. The pair haven’t been seen together in weeks. Blake and Ryan were also noticeably absent from Taylor’s suite at the Super Bowl earlier this month.

“Taylor is really hurt by this whole situation and feels like a pawn,” an insider tells the outlet. “Taylor wants nothing to do with this whole ordeal. She has always been a loyal friend to Blake and doesn’t appreciate being thrown into this at all.”
Meanwhile, The Daily Mail reports that Swift no longer speaks to Lively. Because of their current bad blood, the singer opted not to attend the Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary event. Taylor was reportedly invited to the celebration. However, because she knew Blake would be there, as well as her old enemy Kim Kardashian, she opted to sit it out.
Following the scandal, Swift is allegedly rethinking her relationships. She’s said to be “taking stock” of her friendships and figuring out if she needs to cut any other members of her circle to prevent further damage to her reputation.
The source went on to reveal that Swift has a new album “in the works.” Fans have speculated whether or not there will be any songs about the situation with Lively on her new record. However, only time will tell if she’ll decide to burn that bridge. Although, lyrics about dragons would certainly be a telling message.
