Are A$AP Rocky and Rihanna ready for baby No. 3? According to their lawyer, Joe Tacopina, they might be. After the “Highjack” rapper was found not guilty in his assault trial earlier this week, Tacopina revealed A$AP thanked him by promising to name his next child after him.
A$AP Rocky and Rihanna Make Their Lawyer An Interesting Promise
The attorney discussed the high-profile case during an interview with Extra. Tacopina said hearing the not-guilty verdict made everyone “emotional.” After A$AP Rocky and Rihanna celebrated the news with a hug, the rapper ran back to Tacopina and embraced him, too. During that moment, A$AP also took the opportunity to say “some very nice things” to Tacopina following his support throughout the trial. “He told me he loved me and we’re family,” he said.
As if that wasn’t enough, A$AP Rocky and Rihanna made their lawyer a promise involving the future of their family. “They grabbed me and they said, ‘Listen, our next baby A$AP Joe,” Tacopina revealed. “I said, ‘I’m gonna hold you to that!'”
Tacopina also said that he and A$AP shared a sweet moment right before hearing the verdict. The musician thanked the lawyer for “everything” he’s done for him during the trial. He told Tacopina he appreciated “how hard” he fought for him. No matter what happens, they’re in it “together.”
Tacopina, who has represented various celebrity clients over the years, was impressed with A$AP Rocky for thinking of him during such a difficult time. After all, the rapper “didn’t know” whether he was going to return to his family or “start a decade-long prison sentence” after leaving court. “It’s obviously a very serious moment for him, and he has the wherewithal and the thought to think, ‘Let me thank this guy.’ It was special that he did that,” Tacopina said.
According to AP News, A$AP Rocky was acquitted of two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. The trial, which lasted for three weeks, stemmed from a 2021 shooting incident in Los Angeles. If the jury found A$AP Rocky guilty, he could have gone to prison for more than two decades.
The Couple Is Stronger Than Ever
Since the stakes were high, it’s no wonder A$AP Rocky and Rihanna got so emotional in court. After hearing the first verdict, the rapper immediately ran to hug his mother, sister, and Rihanna. The “Diamonds” singer also reacted to the news in an Instagram Story by sharing her gratitude to “God.”

Following dating rumors, A$AP Rocky and Rihanna finally confirmed their relationship in November 2020. In May 2022, the couple welcomed their first son, RZA. Their second son, Riot, was then born in August 2023.
The two haven’t announced they’re expecting again. However, it seems Rihanna and A$AP may be thinking about expanding their family soon. Based on Tacopina’s comments, they’re already thinking of baby names in case the singer ever got pregnant again. Considering Rihanna is known for making huge announcements when fans least expect (like announcing her pregnancy at the Super Bowl), she could pull something similar with baby No. 3.
