Hollywood star Hunter Schafer is dealing with the repercussions of Donald Trump‘s presidency. The actress recently lamented how one of the president’s numerous executive orders affected her life as a transgender woman.
In an emotional TikTok Story rant, Schafer detailed how her new passport lists her gender as male and not female, following Trump’s executive order that the government recognizes only two genders. “I had a bit of a harsh reality check today and felt like it’s important to share,” she began. The Euphoria actress explained that due to Trump’s order, passport applications requesting a gender marker change were frozen. Citizens can no longer submit new applications with a gender marker deferring from an applicant’s gender assigned at birth. Schafer confessed that she initially believed the executive order wouldn’t be enforced because “our president is a lot of talk.” However, “today, I saw it on my new passport: male.”
The 26-year-old explained that her gender has been female since she was a teenager. However, she had to replace her passport due to a theft incident while filming in Barcelona, Spain. “I filled everything out just like I normally would. I put female, and when it was picked up today, and I opened it up, they had changed the marker to male,” Schafer recalled. Defending her decision to speak up, the Cuckoo star said she wasn’t trying to spread fear or receive consolation.
“I do think it’s worth posting to sort of note the reality of the situation and that it’s happening. I was shocked. I just didn’t think it was actually going to happen.”

Hunter Schafer acknowledged her “privilege” as a “celebrity transwoman who is white” but noted this is the first time this has happened since she transitioned. “We’re coming up on a decade now or something. And I do believe it is a direct result of the administration our country is currently operating under,” she explained. “And I guess I’m just sort of scared.” The Blade Runner 2099 star then went into angry mode, slamming the Trump administration policy.
“I don’t give a f**k that they put an ‘M’ on my passport. It doesn’t change really anything about me or my transness, however, it does make life a little harder.”
Schafer believes one of those “harder” moments would be traveling internationally with her new passport. She opened up about how her plight makes her worried for other trans people facing the same challenge. Despite the defeating policy, the Kinds of Kindness actress remains unashamed. Concluding her rant, she said:
“Trans people are beautiful. We are never going to stop existing, I am never going to stop being trans, a letter on a passport can’t change that. And fuck this administration.”
Hunter Schafer’s rant further draws attention to the sweeping changes the Trump administration is making, and even the elites are clearly affected.
