Robert Pattinson and Zendaya once shared a hilariously awkward moment on the set of The Drama. The Twilight alum recently admitted that he got so stressed while working on the A24 film that he ran to his co-star for help. Pattinson’s issue involved him failing to understand the movie’s script. After Zendaya offered a simple solution, the actor couldn’t believe he hadn’t gotten it before.
Robert Pattinson and Zendaya Had An Interesting Time Filming ‘The Drama’
The night before Robert Pattinson and Zendaya had to do a scene together, the Mickey 17 star said he was trying to prepare himself by re-reading the movie’s script. However, it turned out to be a bad idea because it caused him to overthink everything.
Pattinson told the French publication Premiere in a print exclusive that he was “desperately” looking for the true “meaning” behind the script. He spent so much time “writing pages and pages of textual analysis” to try and accurately bring the scene to life through his performance. However, he just couldn’t get it right. Pattinson got so worked up that he felt like he was going “crazy.”
After being unable to come up with anything, the actor was forced to call Zendaya for help. “I shared my doubts with her,” Pattinson recalled, according to a translation by IndieWire. “I spoke for two hours.”
Thanks to his co-star, Pattinson realized that the scene wasn’t as deep as he was making it out to be. “After a while, very calmly, she made me understand that the line just said what it meant to say, that there was no hidden meaning,” he explained.
Pattinson said he felt silly since he had spent days stressing out over nothing.
What We Know About Their Movie So Far
Robert Pattinson and Zendaya will star alongside each other in A24’s latest film, The Drama. The entertainment company is known for creating hit movies like Everything Everywhere All at Once, Lady Bird, The Iron Claw, and Moonlight, among many others. The Drama is also set to make a splash with such huge names attached to the film.
The project began filming in the United Kingdom last October. It then wrapped up production in December. Not much is known about The Drama just yet. However, it’s being described as a romantic comedy-drama. Robert Pattinson and Zendaya appear to be playing a couple in the film. Their characters will supposedly find themselves in an unexpected predicament right before their wedding.
Robert Pattinson teased the A24 film amid promotions for his most recent movie, Mickey 17. The project is based on the 2022 science fiction novel Mickey7, which centers around a space colonist named Mickey Barnes. It was written by Edward Ashton. Meanwhile, the movie adaptation was written, produced, and directed by the South Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho.
