A Mock jury presents some admissible sticking points in Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ sexual abuse and racketeering case, which could potentially alter the outcome of his May hearing. The disgraced music mogul is gearing up for his highly anticipated May 12 trial, which would determine his future at the Metropolitan Detention Center, Brooklyn, where he has remained since his September 2024 arrest. Prior to that, a jury selection would be conducted in April to handpick potential jurors who would oversee the rapper’s jury hearing.
Ahead of these proceedings, TMZ is giving an insight into how Diddy’s jury hearing could play out, with a 12-man team. The mock jury, which the outlet televised as part of a new documentary, TMZ Presents The Downfall of Diddy: His Defense, delved into potential defense points in Diddy’s hearing, and possible counterattacks. In the documentary, the prosecution and the defense presented Diddy’s case before the 12-person jury, who took notes attentively, before proceeding to the conference table to reach their conclusion.
Jury Deliberates on Diddy’s Abuse and Racketeering Case During Mock Hearing
The jurors debated on points presented by the defense, centering around race, consent, and the terms of Diddy’s alleged racketeering. The issue of consent especially stirred the dust in the conference room, as the jurors debated over what exactly qualified as “coercion,” given that at least three of his accusers were former girlfriends, who had been in consensual relationships with him at the time of their respective “abuses.” While the majority of the jurors questioned the validity of these abuse claims given their relationship with the rapper, be it transactional or not, others argued that being in a consensual relationship did not exactly excuse coercion or abuse.
Another case in point was the concept of racketeering, with the mock jury requiring the prosecutors to prove that Diddy made a profit off his alleged racketeering activities. Only then could one consider it an organized scheme. The issue of race, which Diddy’s defense team has constantly broached in previous hearings and statements, also came up. His lead attorney Marc Agnifilo’s argument that the feds’ attack on the hip hop mogul was simply “an attempted takedown of a successful black man,” resonated with most of the jurors during the mock jury hearing.

After listening to all the evidence proposed for and against Diddy, the Mock jury voted on his fate, giving their final verdict on the case, available on the Tubi documentary. While this outlook on the disgraced rapper’s May hearing is only a mock version, the make-shift jury indeed highlighted just how weak the case against him could become if prosecutors rely only on the evidence made publicly available so far. Some netizens have even expressed fears that the prosecutors and selected jury in Diddy’s case may find themselves cornered by the defense in this manner when the actual court proceedings fire off. Taking to X, one concerned person wrote on X:

The predicted jury outcome comes just days after a judge dismissed five of the nine claims one of Diddy’s accusers, Rodney Jones, presented against him, in what many consider a major win for the rapper. That followed the declaration in a separate grand jury indictment that the disgraced record producer is presumed innocent. This turn of events led to fears that the case against the rapper was increasingly weakening, with conspiracy theorists linking it to his possible affiliations with Donald Trump.
