Kim Kardashian has been the poster child of getting whatever she wants whenever she wants it. However, this time, things went a little differently. Recently, the bible of the late O.J. Simpson was auctioned off to the highest bidder. However, the book gifted to the Hall of Famer by Robert Kardashian Sr. did not end up in the hands of the SKIMS founder. Rather, the bible ended up in the hands of a bidder that offered even more than Kim herself.
According to reports from E! Online, Kim Kardashian’s offer to privately purchase the book was rejected by O.J. Simpson’s estate. The book would then be sold to the winning bidder for $65,800 or $80,276, with the “buyer’s premium.” These options greatly surpassed Kim’s original offer of $15,000. However, it seems social media users do not care that Kim didn’t get the bible. One even stated, “I don’t feel sorry for her.” The book contains a faded message from Robert Kardashian to his friend O.J. Simpson inside. The heartfelt message from one friend to another most likely drew Kim to attempt to purchase the book.

“O.J., this book will help. God loves and he will speak to you with his words. Read this book every day,” the message in Robert’s handwriting reads. “God has a definite plan for your life. You are his child, and he will use you again. I love you, and God loves you.” Robert Kardashian says in his written message to O.J. Simpson.
The date is listed as June 18th, 1994. This was the day before Orenthal James Simpson was arrested following a high-speed police chase. The football player would be charged with the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson. However, Simpson would later be infamously acquitted of the charges. Although acquitted, O.J. was subsequently found liable in a 1997 civil case. Simpson would then pass away at the age of 76 in 2024 following his battle with prostate cancer.
Malcolm LaVergn, the head of O.J. Simpson’s estate, would later explain that the issue with Kim Kardashian’s offer was the price. LaVergn stated that he could not accept such a low offer when the book would demand a much higher price. According to Malcolm, Kim’s offer was not financially acceptable as the book was already under contract. It was defined as a “zero-sum game.”
While Kim Kardashian may be a little upset that she could not purchase her father’s old bible, more social media users may see it as a chance for the model to be humbled. Kim is used to getting whatever she wants, so a loss from time to time might do the mother of four some good. However, Kardashian is nothing but relentless. It would not be too surprising if somehow she ended up with that bible someday.
