Prince Harry might still be a member of the royal family, but he’s certainly not in the fold. The Duke of Sussex was reportedly intentionally left out when it came to spreading the news about his father King Charles’ latest health issues. Charles was recently hospitalized amid his battle with cancer. However, no one wanted to inform Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, as it was happening. The reason was allegedly to keep the drama to a minimum.
According to Us Weekly, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle weren’t informed when King Charles was admitted to the hospital for observation recently. The monarch has been battling cancer since last year. While he has still been juggling his royal duties, he did have a minor setback that forced him to cancel some of his royal obligations. However, Harry had to find out about it through the media like everyone else.
Royal editor Matt Wilkinson reveals that Harry was left out of the loop and purposely “wasn’t told” about Charles’ hospitalization.
Prince Harry Wasn’t Told About King Charles’ Hospitalization
“My understanding is that they didn’t want to add to the drama,” Wilkinson claimed during the latest episode of A Right Royal Podcast. “They didn’t want to add to make it seem like it was more serious than it was. Whereas when he [was diagnosed with cancer], they told Harry before, and Harry flew back.”
It was previously reported that Prince Harry had started off the year with high hopes that he would finally end his royal feud with King Charles and Prince William. However, that hasn’t been the case. The NY Post claims that Harry and Meghan burned their bridges with the royals after countless incidents such as their now infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey and Harry’s memoir, Spare.
Things have gotten so bad that when Prince William eventually ascends to the throne, he’s allegedly considering stripping Harry and Meghan of their royal titles. Sources tell Radar Online that Charles doesn’t have the nerve to do it himself. However, William won’t hesitate to do what he sees fit when he becomes king in the future.
“The royals are absolutely furious that Meghan continues to flaunt the Sussex title for her and Harry’s own self-gain,” an insider told the outlet. “When King Charles does pass away, it’s a certainty that William will pull the trigger and strip her and Harry of their HRH status.”
There is still hope that Prince Harry will be able to mend fences with King Charles and Prince William before it’s too late. However, it seems that the royal family may not always consider the Duke of Sussex when dealing with family issues and making decisions.
