Los Angeles Drivers Are Changing Their License Plates To Show They Are Proud ‘Ex-Tesla’ Owners

You owned one before, though

While Tesla vehicles might’ve been something to show off in the past, things have changed considerably due to recent events. Previously, many were proud owners of one and shared it with everyone and their grandmother. However, some of those people prefer to hide under a rock or make everyone forget about the fact they own one of these cars. Recently, some drivers in Los Angeles, California, have started changing their vehicles and getting creative license plates, such as one that reads, “Ex-Tesla.” It might not be the best way to hide the fact that you owned one, but at least it shows you’re no longer supporting the brand.

User Chrisaldrich shared a picture of a Hyundai with an “Ex-Tesla” license plate on the Los Angeles subreddit. While this is a good way to show that they are not supporting the controversial brand anymore, it may backfire in the end. Ultimately, the plate still shows they owned a Tesla, so nothing really changes there. On the other hand, if the owner only wanted to make fun of the plate, then that’s perfectly fine. Yet, some people are still vandalizing these vehicles, so even with the license plate, this person could still be a target.

One comment in the original post showcases the general consensus about Tesla owners in the country:

“Glad they got their order in before the tariffs.” – magus-21 via Reddit.

As you can see, having a Tesla is like walking on thin ice right now. While some people try to hide the fact, others embrace it in a fun way. Yet, the reality is that this brand is not well-received anymore by people around the country.

Some also think the license plate is a bit overkill and continues to show you were an owner of a Tesla, which doesn’t help much. But everyone is free to do whatever they want with their vehicles, and we have to admit the plate is funny.
