Gwyneth Paltrow doubles down on her defense of Meghan Markle, dissociating herself from rumors of an ongoing feud over their lifestyle pursuits. Since venturing into the lifestyle niche, Markle has found herself constantly compared to the likes of legendary lifestyle queens like Gwyneth Paltrow and Martha Stewart. These comparisons intensified following the release of the duchess’ cooking show, With Love, Meghan, which left many accusing her of copying Paltrow’s style. Things took an even messier turn when the Goop founder shared a video of herself baking breakfast in her Montecito kitchen, which many interpreted as a dig at Markle.
The prevailing rumors of her feud with Meghan Markle, and the resulting backlash forced Gwyneth Paltrow to squash the speculations, filming a joint video with the duchess. Despite her attempt to debunk the feuding rumors, the tabloids have had a field day pitting the two against each other.
Gwyneth Paltrow Issues Stern Warning Amid Meghan Markle Beef

Appearing on an April 24 episode of The World’s First Podcast with Erin & Sara Foster, the 52-year-old discussed the alleged feud, voicing exactly what she thought about the misleading tabloid stories. She slammed,
“You know what I won’t be at this point in my life? I won’t be a pawn in some drummed-up, triangulation of women feud for your f–king clickbait.”
Paltrow followed up with a stern warning to the press, urging them to “leave us out of it.” The actress then made it clear that she would not stand for the media’s ploy to pit her against another woman just for clicks. Gwyneth Paltrow went on to voice how proud she was of Meghan Markle and her lifestyle venture, noting that every woman deserved a chance to embrace their passions, a fact that seems to have been overlooked amid the Sussexes’ hate campaign. She quipped,
“I wish Meghan nothing but the best. Like, it’s so great what she’s doing. I’m proud of her… Every woman deserves to go into anything they want to do.”
Gwyneth Paltrow’s remark, although obvious, highlights an important premise often neglected when scrutinizing the Sussexes and their choices over the years. Just last month, Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown brutally trashed Meghan Markle for choosing her lifestyle brand and Netflix adventure over the life she would have had as a royal. Brown condemned the star’s decision these past years as “a flaming flop,” accusing her of being too impatient to rip the immense benefit that awaited her as a royal. Brown believed the duchess opted for the Hollywood glitz and glam Netflix presented over the royal life out of “naive avarice.”
Markle Slammed Amid Feuding Rumors and Lifestyle Venture

Like Brown, many have slammed Markle for choosing to pursue her dreams, choosing her love for showbiz and passion for the culinary arts over royalty. The mom of two has also faced mockery over these choices, as many deem her venture into sales of jams, food preserves, and mixes as a fall from grace. Gwyneth Paltrow’s backing of Meghan Markle’s lifestyle venture has done little to pacify critics. Reacting to the comment defending the duchess, one critic wrote on X,
“Why does she care that much?”
Many turned to Reddit to rant about Paltrow’s opinion of Meghan, with one writing,
“Gwyneth says what Meghan is doing is great? No, putting out crappy scam jam and sub-par product while charging a premium, acting like she’s some big ‘founder’ while really being a fraud, bully, and liar is not ‘great.’ How ridiculous that she stands up for her just bc she’s a woman. This is how Meghan manipulates all the stupid people of the world: Through the race and gender card.”
Another critic condemned,
“Honestly I wouldn’t put it past MM to put this type of ‘rumor’ out there. Anything for attention. She has gone through about 8 PR companies. Either she fires them because she isn’t getting enough positive attention, or they have actually dumped her for being too difficult to work with. But false rumors out on social media is a very well-known PR tactic.”
Critics also accused the lifestyle guru Gwyneth Paltrow of intentionally playing on the rumored feud with Meghan Markle just to rack up publicity. This isn’t the first time the star has spoken up in defense of the Duchess of Sussex.
Last month, the icon graced an interview with Vanity Fair, where she revealed that her upbringing made her perceive other women as friends, not foes. Hence, she felt only happiness seeing Markle strive to grow her lifestyle venture, knowing there was enough room for everyone to go around. The businesswoman further buttressed that everyone deserved to attempt whatever they chose to try in pursuit of their dreams. Hence, whether she’s solving third-world problems or selling dog biscuits, what matters is finding fulfillment in her chosen career, which Markle most certainly has by embracing her lifelong passion for the culinary arts and showbiz.
