  • Round 1 – Bluetooth: Xbox Series Vs DualSense Controller
  • Round 2 – USB-C Xbox Series Vs DualSense Controller

Have you ever felt like your in-game response and movement are not in sync with the buttons you press? This is known as input lag, and every controller comes with an amount of it. However, you want to pick the one with the lowest in a game like Call of Duty, where sweat lords own the lobbies. We’re putting the Xbox Series and DualSense controllers to the test here to see which one has the lowest input lag and ultimately, is the best for playing Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6.

The following test is done via the Polling app on Windows 11 and both controllers are directly connected to the PC with no 3rd party apps involved.

Round 1 – Bluetooth: Xbox Series Vs DualSense Controller

  • Xbox Series Controller: 6.90ms
  • DualSense: 0.98ms

Leaning back while playing Ranked Play in Black Ops 6 and Warzone is the luxury of using controllers on Bluetooth. However, it may cost you batteries, or your game might just pull the plug only because your controller’s battery has just gone dry. Anyways, which controller has the lowest input lag for playing Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6?

First, I’ve tested the Xbox Series controller you see in the image above, and this is the end result:

As you can see the Xbox controllers are locked in 125Hz Bluetooth connectivity, which is the main reason why the inputs are registered 7ms late. Not looking good, really.

Now we have DualSense, which runs at 1000Hz Bluetooth connectivity. And this is the end result:

Under 1ms is just the thing we’re looking for when playing Call of Duty or any other shooter game, to be honest. So the winner of this round is DualSense, and it is indeed the best controller among the two for playing Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6 on PC/Laptop.

Round 2 – USB-C Xbox Series Vs DualSense Controller

DualSense is the best controller with the lowest input lag

  • Xbox Series Controller: 7.57ms
  • DualSense: 3.74ms

There’s a belief that wired controllers always have the lowest input lag, and the test below is the counter. The test result on the left is for the Xbox Series controller and the one on the right is for DualSense.

As you can see, the Xbox Series controller doesn’t improve when using the controller via a USB-C cable, and the DualSense is shockingly getting 4ms input lag. The winner of this round is also DualSense, but in conclusion, the PS5 controller connected via Bluetooth has the lowest input lag and is the best for playing Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6 right now.

Amir is an absolute Call of Duty nerd, preferring shooter games more than everything. However, he does like to do uppercuts in Mortal Kombat and feel the NOS going through the engines in Need For Speed games.
