The popular YouTube Let’s Play webseries Game Grumps is one Grump shorter today, as Barry Kramer has revealed he is no longer with the team. After five years with the company, he announced his official departure earlier today on Twitter.

Kramer’s official statement regarding his departure is written below:

It’s long been the plan that I would someday leave Game Grumps to purse my own vision and that day has finally arrived.

It’s a terryfying thing, leaving something after five years, but i depart with my head held high. I am immensly proud of the work I accomplished, the community I helped build, and the incredible people I had the truly distinct pleasure of working with.

I entered Game Grumps a silent worker, a faceless editor behind the scenes with zero expecations of anything more. But now I walk away with so much more under my belt: let’s plays, spinoff shows, charity livestreams, sketches, music videos, live apperances, the list goes on and on. The people I’ve met because of Grumps, the friends I’ve made, the lives I’ve touched. Five years is an eternity in Internet time and I consider myself so very, very lucky to h ave been along for the ride.

I will forever look back fondly on my time with Grumps (and the “Best of Barry” compliations will certainly make that easier) but now its tie for me to start anew. I’m excited about what I’ll be doing next and I hope you’ll join me.

To Arin, Dan, Suzy, Ross, Brian, Brent, and every lovely under the sun:

Thank You.

Love,

Barry

As he mentioned in the letter, Kramer has seen significant growth since joining the company as an editor back in 2013. Alongside continuing to edit and produce, he co-hosted a show called Tableflip with Suzy Berhow, where they would dress in Victorian/19th century American period clothing and play tabletop games, such as card games, board games, and tile-based games with other YouTube personalities.

At the time of his departure, Game Grumps is one of the more successful channels on YouTube, currently sitting around 4.2 Million followers. Be it behind the scenes or on camera, Kramer certainly had a hand in that success. I for one can’t wait to see what he will do next.
