One of the things that didn’t change for the sequel is the plethora of materials Sam can use to rebuild Mexico and Australia. Many porters will be familiar with how they work, but a few new ones might need a refresher. But, most importantly, some will need to know what’s the best way to obtain materials in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, especially with this game having even more ways to use them. Here, we’ll give you a few tips to make your material farming a breeze.

Where To Find Materials in Death Stranding 2

The easiest and shortest answer is: everywhere. But that doesn’t narrow it down. As you may or may not know, there are six types of materials in the game:

  • Metals
  • Resins
  • Ceramics
  • Special Alloys
  • Chemicals
  • Chiral Crystals

Out of these six, Chiral Crystals are a bit easier to find and are usually easier to spot, but the other five will require you to go to specific locations to obtain them. Below are some of the areas that contain them.

Enemy Camps

The easiest way to find materials in Death Stranding 2, especially Resins, Metals, Ceramics, Special Alloys, and Chemicals, is by raiding enemy camps. Often, bandits and brigands will have all of these materials in their bases. Some will carry them around, but most of the time you’ll see the containers inside buildings or MULE postboxes. If you want to have a steady income of supplies, find one large camp to raid, head back to your private room to rest for a few days, and repeat the process.

Head to BT Areas

Chances are that some players will get grabbed by BTs doing some orders. When that happens, many tend to panic and drop materials around. And, you know what they say: a porter’s lost cargo is another porter’s treasure, or something like that. In all seriousness, visiting BT areas is a good idea to get some cargo, yet it isn’t the safest.

While you’re at it, you can kill a few BTs to obtain Chiral Crystals, which is the easiest way to do so in the game. A few mines also have Crystals outside, but fighting BTs is always the best option.

Claim From Facilities

You can also claim materials from facilities you’ve connected to the network. To do so, head to Facility Management and select Claim Materials. You’ll see a menu like the above one, showing you all the materials you can get. A facility’s material stock will grow depending on your connection level with it. So, if you want to get as many materials as possible, try to do orders for a specific location or bring back some of its lost cargo; everything helps to befriend these preppers.
