Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s split is still front-page news, but there’s a new twist. Last week, the 40-year-old singer made headlines for appearing to call it quits with the Pirates of the Caribbean star, whom she had been with for nine years. While Katy‘s fans were coping with her seven-year engagement ending and her facing being a single mom to daughter Daisy, they’re now processing new photos showing former fiance Orlando with actress Sydney Sweeney.
The weekend, which brought Amazon boss Jeff Bezos’ wedding to Lauren Sanchez, also brought photos of Orlando strolling around Venice, Italy with 27-year-old Sydney. The White Lotus star is herself freshly single following her recent split from fiance Jonathan Davino. Fans reacting to the photos didn’t seem to think much of it, though, even thinking that Orlando and Sydney looked a little awkward together.

Definitely not sending out couples vibes, but getting fans talking, Orlando and Sydney were seen strolling along a canal, enjoying the Italian heat. Both were part of the celebrity-studded crowd attending Bezos’ massive, lavish wedding.
Sydney, who dressed for Italy’s current heatwave, kept stylish in a multicolored, floral-printed sundress. Going sleeveless, the 27-year-old hid her curves, opting for a sweeping maxi finish as she teased her hourglass frame. Sydney added shades while wearing her hair down. Orlando, meanwhile, made no body contact with Sydney as he wore a black tee and shorts that showed off his ultra-built legs.
In a caption on Instagram, Backgrid said that the duo was “seen strolling through the charming streets of Venice, Italy.” Given that Orlando is fresh from his split, the comments didn’t take long. See the photo here.
Photos Will ‘Send Katy Into Space’
“They’re not even looking at each other or talking it feels staged,” one fan wrote as over 300 others agreed. While a popular reply gaining over 700 likes said that Perry would be sent “into space” by the photo, most fans weren’t feeling a romantic vibe.
“Two people can’t go for a walk together without everyone assuming nonsense,” one fan replied.
Neither Katy nor Orlando has made an official statement regarding their split. The former couple was engaged for seven years and may well have to face coparenting daughter Daisy. Meanwhile, Sydney has made 2025 headlines for saying that she was no longer planning to marry former fiance Jonathan Davino.
