On Saturday, the mom of two took to Instagram to share a photo of herself having a good time on the beach, away from all the buzz. However, her attempt to portray the perfect weekend soon backfired.
The photo featured the 43-year-old on the beach, clad in a pair of white shorts and an oversized cream shirt. Meghan Markle accessorized with a beige hat, sunglasses, and a gold wristwatch, opting for a pair of brown sandals rather than going barefoot on the sunny beach.

In the snapshot, the duchess flaunted her toned legs in her unique beach outfit as she strode away from the breathtaking ocean, towards the camera. What appeared to be her footprints were visible behind her in the sand, extending down to the ocean expanse. She had a carefree smile plastered on her face, seemingly enjoying her weekend rendezvous. The 43-year-old captioned the post,
“That weekend feeling ☀️🎶.”
Despite Meghan’s attempt to showcase her perfect weekend, critics looked past the fun elements in the shot and went on a rampage, nitpicking the inconsistencies in the photo and suggesting a photo shop fail. Netizens criticized everything, from her weirdly-shaped shadow and the footprint trail behind her, to her choice of oversized shirt on a hot Summer day, and even her color pairing. Many also condemned Meghan Markle for wearing sandals on the beach, despite consistently going barefoot in previous photos and videos from her California home. “Always barefoot except on the beach,” one of her critics shot.
Meghan’s Leggy Display Blasted By Body-Shaming Trolls
Meanwhile, most of the comments targeting the As Ever founder took aim at her physical appearance, including the size of her legs, her weight, and even her skin tone. Trolling Meghan, one critic noted that “her feet are wider than her thighs,” while another described her as a “potato with chicken legs.” Another trolled,
“Chicken legs, oversized shirt, broad shoulders, mixing cream and white. She has all the style and grace of a pit pony.”
Another critic added,
“These legs… and I thought I can’t be shocked anymore… this woman isn’t healthy.”
One fan described Meghan Markle as having the “least-enticing thighs,” appearing to belong to “an ex-showgirl of eighty-five,” urging her to desist from flaunting them in shorts. Another agreed, encouraging the duchess to also wear “closed-toe shoes” while at it to keep her feet better hidden.
The dig at Meghan’s feet comes after the star shared a video showcasing “a little behind the scenes” of the production process for her As Ever sweet treats. Meghan Markle’s video earned her criticism from fans, who condemned her for appearing barefoot in nearly all the scenes featuring her, except one that showed her with her daughter. Critics also slammed the mom of two for leaving her 4-year-old daughter barefoot and unkempt, while keeping her own feet safe in a pair of knee-highs.
Before that, Meghan’s parenting tactics had been brought into question on several occasions, with critics accusing her of treating her children as mere “props” in her ambitious business pursuits. Notably, Meghan Markle, who has strived for years to keep her two youngsters, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, away from the spotlight, has taken to featuring them in most of her latest Instagram posts. Although the star makes efforts to conceal her face in these posts, her decision to post pictures of her kids has earned her backlash, regardless, with critics convinced the Sussexes were only reserving the youngsters as bargaining chips when all else fails in their pursuit of fame.
