Call of Duty: WWII Hackers Are Owning The Players’ Systems, Or Are They Fake?!

“You’ve been hacked!” Fr?

While Black Ops 6 and Warzone are in a somewhat stale situation, the return of Call of Duty: WWII via Xbox Game Pass was glorious. For some players, however, the happy days ended all too quickly, as hackers discovered an exploit that allowed them to send threatening messages to players enjoying their time in the good old Call of Duty: WWII on PC.

When cheaters have found a way to hack into the World Series of Warzone, a million-dollar tournament, why would it surprise me that Call of Duty: WWII of 2017 is being exposed to hackers? Many users on Reddit are reporting a hack by someone called “adrian5909” who’s been sending threatening messages to players like: “Get hacked by adrian5909 your pc is now mine.”

Got this message while playing COD WWII

The fear of hackers has stopped so many players from jumping back into the online lobbies, and it gets worse when you find Reddit posts showcasing how the hacker has been able to customize the host PC. Changing the background, running CMD codes, and opening the Notepad app are some of the mess around from the so-called hacker. But how much of this is true anyway?

PC hacked while playing this on gamepass, please guide

I’ve been playing Call of Duty: WWII for a few days now on Game Pass PC, and I have to admit, it was a blast going back to the HQ. But not a single time have I seen the hacked messages or anything. I might be super lucky, and I’ll definitely update this post if any sign of the hackers appears while I play Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer and Zombies. But as I was investigating the issue on Reddit, I came across this post that answered many of my questions.

Found an old comment on a different cod relating to RCE-threats and this visually atleast is exactly what the RCEs are doing in ww2..

Now I’m certainly not an expert in writing codes or going in-depth into what the RCE is exactly, but what this post is trying to say is that the vulnerability is there in the game, just not as aggressive as people are faking it. Pop-up calculators and CMDs are accordingly false information, and this hack is just an in-game mod menu that pops and sends the player back to the lobby. That’s it.

As far as the vulnerability goes, the game is cracked, literally. You can’t just put up a game that hackers skate in its online servers without a proper anti-cheat system. But well, the new games are broken as well, so I don’t know why am I hoping for a fix for Call of Duty: WWII. It’s just that the deep system hack seems to be fake, and it’s only an in-game message, so, enjoy the game before it gets worse.

Amir is an absolute Call of Duty nerd, preferring shooter games more than everything. However, he does like to do uppercuts in Mortal Kombat and feel the NOS going through the engines in Need For Speed games.
