Warframe Nightcap Guide (How to Rank Up Nightcap)

Warframe‘s Vallis Undermind update is now available, and with it, the game has introduced a new syndicate-like NPC named Nightcap, whom you must rank up to gain their trust and unlock the new rewards. Ranking up this NPC is a little different compared to the usual bounty and mission grinding from other syndicate factions. You’re gonna need to be a bit more curious about the environment, so here’s our guide to help you rank up Nightcap in Warframe.

Find & Analyze Mushrooms to Rank Up Nightcap

You can rank up Nightcap’s standing in Warframe by collecting three of each of the 16 mushroom types in the Vallis Undermind update and then analyzing them via Nightcap. To find these mushrooms, you need to go on Deepmines Bounties and look for them while on the bounty missions. You’ll have plenty of time to pick them up; however, the spawn rates of the mushrooms appear to be random. Follow these instructions for a streamlined Nightcap rank-up:

Talk to Nightcap in the Fortuna Airlock (left from the Fortuna starting point)
Click Field Guide to see if you’ve collected Mushrooms already.
If you have three of the same mushroom type, click on it and click Analyze.
If you don’t have three of any mushroom type, run Deepmines Bounties until you do.
Make sure to look for mushroom icons on the ground during the mission; you’ll have to collect them manually.
Check Nightcap’s Field Guide after every mushroom harvest in a Deepmines Bounty to see if you can analyze some of them.

Required Mushrooms for Nightcap Rank-Ups

The table below displays how many mushrooms you need to have analyzed (in multiples of 3) to progress Nightcap’s ranks:

Rank 5	16 Mushrooms (16 mushroom types, 3 mushrooms each)

All in all, you need to collect 48 mushrooms (divided into 16 different types) in Deepmines Bounties; however, due to RNG, you’ll likely need to collect more since you might receive more than three of each mushroom type. In this case, where you’ve fully analyzed a mushroom type and don’t need the excess mushroom, you can compost this excess to gain Fergolyte, which is the currency needed to purchase the new Warframe, Nokko, and weapon blueprints, among other items from Nightcap.
