Enshrouded Goes Underwater With Its Wake of the Water Update

We all saw the Gamescom teaser and have been patiently waiting for the next update that would allow us to take our Flameborn out for another perilous expedition. Thankfully, the wait won’t be too long as the Wake of the Water update is set to flood Enshrouded in a couple of weeks. On top of the underwater exploration and new area, players can also expect the long-awaited combat changes and the addition of a new weapon.

Enshrouded: Wake of the Water Launches on November 10

First things first: the release date of Wake of the Water for Enshrouded is on November 10. Initially, the update was slated for release in October 2025, but the developers decided to take more time to continue delivering the high-quality updates they’ve been launching sinceย Enshroudedย entered early access. And after seeing the above dev update, we’re sure the wait will be worth it.

While this update is bringing the new underwater exploration mechanics, there are many more things that make this patch one of the biggest we’ve seen in the game. For starters, there’s a combat and itemization overhaul on the way. The developers mention that some weapons didn’t meet the fantasy in terms of stats and damage. As a result, some items will undergo significant changes, such as Ice Daggers now dealing piercing and ice damage with each hit. You’ll even be able to craft Lore weapons you’ve previously discovered at a higher level now, which is an excellent change. And speaking of weapons, the new two-handed greatsword is finally arriving, for those who want to slice their enemies with ruthless style.

Combat is also getting major changes, such as allowing players to start as mages, so to speak. There is now a Firebolt spell that Flameborn can grab at early levels, to start playing with that mage archetype as soon as they step outside of the cave. However, there are also some adjustments coming to make fights, especially around the mid to endgame, more challenging, such as tweaks to HP regeneration. This will encourage players to prepare ahead of every encounter. The same applies to mana and stamina regeneration, but don’t fret, because you’ll encounter other sources that buff these stats.

Enshrouded: Wake of the Water will also introduce swimming, fishing, and more water-related activities. You can even start building your base by the water, where you can tame new capybaras.

Overall, this update is going to be fantastic, especially for many players who’ve been around the game since its initial launch. Whether you want to start a new world or modify your existing one, it is time to, dare I say, dive back in, to try everything in Wake of the Water.
