New York Woman Receives Letter About Her Scary Halloween Decorations Scaring Children, Doesn’t Even Live in an HOA, ‘Now You Need a Speaker Playing Scary Sounds as Well’

C’mon… they’re just Halloween decorations

Have you ever driven by someone’s yard near Halloween and thought, “Wow, those are some cool decorations”? With Home Depot’s 12-foot skeletons driving the internet wild, there are a lot of cool yards out there in October. A New York woman tried to have a little fun and show her Halloween spirit through her yard decorations recently. However, despite the fact that she doesn’t live in an HOA, her neighbors had a problem with it.

Brit (@britpasc) shared a TikTok video talking about her neighbors and the issues they had with her recent Halloween decorations. Instead of knocking on her door to confront her, they engaged in the cowardly act of writing her a letter. In the letter, they explained that they “appreciate the enthusiasm” Brit has for decorating at Halloween. However, they said they want to “ask for a moment of consideration regarding the outdoor displays. Some of the current decorations are quite scary and aggressive.” They go on to say that her displays are “frightening for young children” walking past Brit’s property. In the end, her nosy Karen neighbors ask her to “adjust” the placement of some of her more intense decorations.

Brit goes on to say that “Petty Betty” is her middle name. She then shows viewers her Halloween lawn decorations. There’s a scarecrow, a large demon that her young child asked for, some gravestones, a little clown, and some pumpkins. Keep in mind that Beth doesn’t live in an HOA and she’s permitted to put out whatever decorations she pleases in her neighborhood. Brit said now she’s ready to put even scarier decorations out the next year. She hopes that this sends a message to her neighbors that she’s dedicated to ignoring everything they so pleasantly asked of her. This whole situation could have been avoided if they decided to mind their own business.

One commenter pointed out, “Now you need a speaker playing scary sounds as well.” Another commenter stated, “People need to STOP relying on other people to PARENT THEIR CHILDREN!!! Talk to your d**n kids and maybe they wouldn’t be scared.” And, again, it helps when neighbors choose not to be nosy Karens. It takes literally nothing at all for them to do that.
