The holiday season is about to invade the Tower because the beloved Dawning event is coming to Destiny 2. For those jumping into the game for the first time, this is the Christmas event of the game, which usually features a few limited-time modes, some holiday-themed cosmetics, and a few interesting weapons to add to your arsenal or to drop inside your vault, depending on your build. Since Bungie has now revealed what’s coming to this event, we’ve made a guide with everything you can do and obtain during The Dawning 2025 in Destiny 2.
The Dawning 2025 Event Guide
The Dawning 2025 will arrive at Destiny 2 on December 16 and will run through January 6. So, if you want to get any of the new weapons or cosmetics, you should mark your calendar because you’ll only be able to obtain these goodies while the event lasts.
In terms of gameplay additions, and according to the most recent TWID, there are two coming: Snowball Fights and Cookie Cooking.
The former will be a Crucible Ops called Dawning: Snowball Fight. Here, you’ll face other Guardians and throw snowballs at them. You won’t be able to use abilities or weapons. Just pure snowball mayhem for all players. Outside of this event, other places will be covered in snow, and Portal activities will get the Snowstorm modifiers, which will let you get snowballs after defeating enemies.
The Cookie Cooking part is a cozier side of the event, and this one will allow you to bake cookies for some NPCs around the Tower. Doing so will give you some Dawning-themed goodies. Bungie has posted the cookie delivery list for this year:

- Infinite Forest Cake for Failsafe (Nessus)
- Ill-Fortune Cookies for Petra Venj (Dreaming City)
- Strange Cookies for Xûr (Eternity)
- Ascendant Oatmeal Raisin Cookies for Eris Morn (Luna)

- Neomun-Pie for Nimbus (Neomuna)
However, two new recipients will become available this year:
- Dark Matter Drizzlers for Dean of the Aionians (Caldera on Kepler or in Solo Ops)
- Peanut Butter Paw Prints for Archie (Tower Annex)
The Dawning Rewards
Beyond the baking and snowball fighting, the truth is that the highlight of The Dawning 2025 event is the rewards. This year, we’ll be getting the usual Eververse store items. So far, it seems to be a wolf-themed ornament set, and, judging by previous events, we imagine this one will cost around 1,500 Silver.
However, the most important part of the event is the new lineup of weapons, and there are three coming to The Dawning 2025.

As usual, you’ll be able to obtain the holofoil versions of these weapons, which look quite great from the images we’ve seen so far. There will also be other rewards, such as shaders, emblems, a ship, a vehicle, and a ghost shell, but we’ll showcase those once they are in-game.
Ultimately, this event looks pretty great, especially for those who might want a break from the Lawless Frontier or want some lighthearted snowball fighting. On top of that, the new weapons look like terrific additions to the game, and some that you should add to your arsenal as soon as possible.
