The comment comes on the heels of his own Netflix documentary, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which garnered 21.8 million views in its first six days and became the most-watched Netflix series during its debut week. A representative for Combs called the doc a “shameful hit piece,” claiming:
“Netflix relied on stolen footage that was never authorized for release… It is fundamentally unfair, not to mention illegal, for Netflix to misappropriate that work.”
Director Alex Stapleton countered, saying:
“It came to us, we obtained the footage legally, and have the necessary rights. We moved heaven and earth to keep the filmmaker’s identity confidential… We also reached out to Sean Combs’ legal team for an interview and comment multiple times, but did not hear back.”

The series promises to offer “personal insight into their lives, experiences, and the realities they have navigated.”
Zeus Network CEO Lemuel Plummer emphasized the project’s intent:
“To be clear, this documentary is about allowing Justin and Christian to share their personal story. We’re not here to endorse Diddy or anyone else. As a network, we believe in giving individuals a platform to tell their own experiences… We’re simply allowing these stories to be told, and that’s the essence of what we’re doing here.”
