A nurse in Chicago, Illinois, is currently under fire over a string of TikToks in which he appears to suggest leaving ICE agents to bleed out following Alex Pretti’s death.
The nurse in question was identified as Chad Malinowsky, a nurse who has since deleted his controversial TikToks and even privated his account. Others, such as Roots of Healing, managed to repost his clips.
“Remember how much power nurses have in this country? One of our was just murdered in the street,” Chad said. “So, we might be able to stop this somehow. Thoughts?“
In a second TikTok, Chad reacted to another content creator who pointed out that “most ICE agents don’t wear their plates properly.” The Illinois nurse then recalled one time that he was “holding on a groin that wouldn’t stop bleeding.”
Chad, recalling his time as a cardiac ICU nurse while nodding multiple times, said that the injuries on the femoral artery result in heavy bleeding, and that “someone could bleed out quickly from that, probably in a couple of minutes.”
In a third and final clip, a shirtless Chad called out “all health organizations” out there to terminate MAGA employees because they are “not safe people to take care of other people.”
“You can’t have people who have open racism in the healthcare system,” he said. “And we already know that exists, ’cause if you’re a black woman in healthcare, you know. But if you’re openly MAGA at this point and you’re supporting the murdering of people, you don’t deserve to be in healthcare. You should have your license removed.”
Nurse Draws Backlash
The backlash was instantaneous, with right-wing accounts such as Libs of TikTok calling for the Illinois nurse’s firing. One of his former employers, Carle Health, even issued a statement, clarifying that Chad has not worked at the health system “in over three years.”
Users, however, remain relentless in their calling out of Chad’s chilling suggestions.
“ANY health care provider openly advocating harm and or murder should not have a license,” one user commented. Another one said, “He just snitched on himself lol.” A third one added, “I do not want to go to a hospital at all anymore.”
Roots of Healing shared a new Chad clip from his now-privated account. He insists that “at no time and in no way” he advocated for nurses to treat patients differently based on their political views. According to him, everyone “misunderstood” his posts.
