When people boast that AI is the future of mankind, I doubt many imagine it will also be used by some as their mistress. Sadly, it has become quite a trend for some people to turn to AI chatbots to fulfill their emotional needs. Sometimes it gets so bad that they actually consider the chatbot their partner. For this California father, he was caught by his wife cheating with an AI Jennifer Aniston. The video shared online was actually recorded by their child. In it, the wife was yelling at the California man about his secret AI mistress. The woman shouted at him to get out of the house angrily. Then she said she couldn’t believe that he spent time talking to that AI chatbot, but did not even spare any energy talking to her.
The California father just sat on the sofa silently, not even bothering to retort or defend himself, though he sported a quite flabbergasted look, as if he did not see the reason why his wife was so upset with him. It is unclear whether the California man actually understood that he was talking with an AI bot. One internet user actually discovered the man commenting on a real Jennifer Aniston video, asking whether he could meet her if he got the VIP card for her event.
The internet was equally shocked to hear that the California father was actually in a relationship with a chatbot. “It’s sad bc it’s reality! A lot of married Boomer men on here and IG are thirsting over, and sending their whole life savings to AI accounts. They’re being catfished and scammed by other men in different countries 😭 his wife has every right to chew him out,” one user wrote.
Some users argued that it shouldn’t be considered cheating since no real person was involved. Others, however, said the situation was more complicated.
“Reminds me of a survey I saw once,” one Redditor wrote. “They asked people if having expletive with a robot would count as cheating on a spouse or partner. The answers were split by gender. Most women said yes, it’s cheating, while most men said no, it isn’t. Get your popcorn ready, because this is only the beginning of this debate.”
A handful of users criticized the original poster for uploading the video online, saying that something this private should not be aired to the public.“I don’t understand people who post clearly personal things about their family like this on a public platform,” one commenter wrote.
