A Nevada woman took to TikTok to share about leaving a Super Bowl party over hateful comments. This led to a heated exchange. The woman explains how she “was already running late” when she arrived to find someone “saying some heinous and hateful.” The comments regarded Bad Bunny’s halftime show.

The Nevada woman prefaces her comments with the statement that it’s “neither here nor there” if someone isn’t a fan of the genre. She says it’s perfectly fine if someone “doesn’t like Bad Bunny” or doesn’t “listen to music in Spanish.” It doesn’t bother her if a specific artist or their music is not someone’s “cup of tea.” Although she points out that it crosses the line to say, “I hate Bad Bunny, he hates America.”

She explains how the person didn’t stop there. They continue the rant with, “the fact that he’s allowed to sing in Spanish at the Super Bowl is awful.” The person calls his performance “un-American” and expresses disdain that they “have to listen to him.” The Nevada woman says that this was the moment, “[her] husband’s face went white ’cause he saw [her] walk in.” She explains that “he knew what was about to go down.” She confirms that “it did.”

Nevada Woman Gets Into Heated Exchange

She assures that she was “respectful and mature” when confronting the person. She asks them, “Did you know that Bad Bunny is an American citizen?” and “Did you know that he can also speak English?” The person chases her outside when she leaves, saying, “I know you’re a libtard.” They ‘correct’ themselves, saying, “I’m sorry, liberal.” The Nevada woman asks them if they knew Puerto Ricans “were American citizens.” The person argues with her by bringing up taxes. She rebuts that, “they’re American citizens, they pay taxes.”

She explains that the information “went over their head.” The person insists that they aren’t hateful. The Nevada woman responds, “You’re not hateful. You just said hateful things.” They argue that this “doesn’t change who [they] are.” She explains that when she hears things like that and stays after, she would be “condoning it.” She continues, “I’m not staying in the room anymore with anyone like that.” The Nevada woman adds, “I think it’s time for you guys to feel a little bit uncomfortable.”

She explains how the person didn’t want to hear what she said, because “they only live in this echo chamber of America.” They then tell her that they “wished she liked America more.” She responds, “I love America. I wish America were what it started as, like that everyone from all over could be anything and that anyone was welcome.” She concludes the story by saying she’s leaving when someone says something heinous, “because that’s called boundaries.” And adds, “you best believe I’m watching the entire halftime show.”
