There are all sorts of people with various struggles. Rarely, though, do people think that it’s a great idea to livestream themselves while they are having a breakdown. One popular rapper, IHeartMemphis, whose real name is Richard Maurice Colbert, was recently arrested in Florida after he livestreamed his standoff with police officers at his house. This whole incident started when the man began to act erratically online. The man expressed his paranoia to his followers on Instagram, believing that his neighbors were spying on him. It got so bad that he even covered up his windows with various clothes. People were understandably worried, and police were sent to check on him.
Well, the Florida rapper didn’t appreciate it at all, and he got into a standoff with police, yelling and shouting at them. Things, however, escalated to another level when IHeartMemphis began making threats toward the police and even held a gun, pointing the weapon outside where the police were standing. At this point, the officers decided that the best course of action was to take him by force.
The whole process was also livestreamed by the Florida rapper. You could see IHeartMemphis cowering behind his car in his garage. Since the man was barricading himself for hours, the police literally had to drag the car out through the garage door. The sight of it on livestream was certainly something that felt like it came straight out of a video game. Thankfully, the Florida rapper didn’t resist further, and he even tried to show that he was unarmed and asked the police not to shoot him. After detaining him, police brought the man to a local hospital to be checked before taking him straight to jail.
Online, many people were mostly shocked at the way the police managed to get into the Florida rapper’s home. Seeing the car slowly flipping over and being dragged out of the garage was truly jaw-dropping. “Bro got Rainbow 6 sieged,” one user joked. Another said, “Nothing unusual here, just casually ripping your entire car out through your garage door.”
Some users expressed their worry about the Florida rapper’s condition. Although threatening the police wasn’t acceptable, it was clear to some viewers that IHeartMemphis was having a mental breakdown, which may have caused him to act so aggressively.“Seems more like the guy needs help rather than a military-style incursion into his home where he is likely to react badly and get himself killed,” one commenter wrote.
