After a series of winter storms brought fresh snowfall to parts of Illinois, some residents have turned to an unexpected but effective way to clear it: using a leaf blower. One young man was doing just that, when a male Karen confronted him due to the noise. While the neighbor with the leaf blower said it was 8am, the male Karen claimed it was 7am. The footage is circulating online right now.
The video opens on a snowy Illinois neighbourhood, and sees the elderly man approach the young neighbor with a leaf blower, saying, “You’re gonna knock it off.” before segueing into what occurred earlier during the buildup. Stood in a black hoodie, blue jeans, and a black beanie hat, the male Karen exclaims, “Stop what you’re doing or I want to call the HOA or the police on you, and we’re gonna get this resolved one way or another. You can’t be out here in the morning. It’s against the rules.“
The young man with a leaf blower is the one filming the awkward encounter, and he responds with, “All right, are you gonna let me talk?” To this, the man fires back, “No, I’m not. You’re gonna stop. Stop what you’re doing now.” However, the neighbor attempts to explain, “First, this is a residential neighborhood.” and the male Karen refuses to have any of it. “I know I live in the residential neighborhood. You don’t have to explain this to me. Stop what you’re doing. Knock it off.“
“All right, I’m honestly not gonna listen to you at all, cos I’ve no idea what you’re talking about.” retorts the young neighbor. Frustrated, the man fires back, “Do you not speak English? Stop what you’re doing. Go back int he house, come back out at a normal time when you’re not waking up everybody.” Standing his ground, the neighbor replies, “It is 8am.” though the male Karen disputes this and claims, “It is 7am.” Calmly, the neighbour says, “Alright, by this time it’s 8am. And I can 100% blow the snow off my driveway whenever I want. It’s not in the HOA or anything that I have to be out here at a certain time.”
