You should never mess with strangers, especially when you aren’t sure of what they are really capable of. A visit to a restaurant in Texas turned into a full-blown investigation after someone stole an entire bag of shoes. It’s a good thing these places have cameras handy just for this kind of situation. It’s a testament to the power of technology and just how far people are willing to go to get back what belongs to them. Hopefully, the thieves think twice before taking a bag that doesn’t belong to them.
A young woman named Bri, who goes by the name @d1janae on TikTok, posted a storytime about how a bag of shoes from FootLocker had been stolen from a restaurant where her friends were dining. The restaurant, identified in a caption within the video as Teatonic, provided Bri and her friends with surveillance footage of the incident, which can clearly be seen on CCTV.
It seems that she left the shoes unattended by the door, and someone standing inside swooped in, snagged the bag, and ran out of the store towards their vehicle. What the culprit didn’t know was that this footage was everything that Bri needed to start the investigation into how to get her shoes back.
Between her and her friends, they were able to triangulate the Facebook information of the person who stole the shoes and, later, her address. They all then pulled up to the house and retrieved the bag without any further issues.

Commenters were absolutely stunned that Bri was able to get the FootLocker bag back solely through her and her friends’ research skills. One person even commented, “So are yall taking in any new missions per chance ???? I got a job for yall.” Some people were more focused on the fact that Bri was a victim of a crime, with a different person saying, “don’t be shy! show us the face when they got caught! 😭😂“
According to a reply to someone asking if she was going to press charges, Bri responded with, “no we didn’t, but they want to press charges on me for posting them on tiktok 😂.” There haven’t been any updates on her account yet regarding potential lawsuits, but I wish her the best of luck. Though I also hope she knows not to leave bags of expensive shoes unattended at a restaurant in the future.
