Celebrities are supposed to be a group of people you never expect to meet in real life. Seeing their faces online is no surprise, but you certainly don’t expect them to stroll into your cafe. Well, one Florida coffee shop had the shock of the year when Ricky Martin entered their cafe. Even more shocking is the fact that this Puerto Rican singer had his name on the “Drinks Free” board. The board itself was small, and on it were written several popular singers and other well-known individuals, including Bad Bunny, Pedro Pascal, Drake Maye, Sam Darnold, Lady Gaga, and others. Of course, Ricky Martin’s name was also listed.
When the singer saw this, he recorded his findings. Pointing to the board at the Florida coffee shop, the singer grinned at the camera. A female employee was also recorded in the video. She was standing nearby, her face full of shock as she stuttered out words, unable to believe that Ricky Martin was actually at this Florida coffee shop.
There was also a second video which was uploaded to the shop’s official Instagram page. This one was recorded by a security camera. In it, you could see the Puerto Rican singer entering the Florida coffee shop. It also recorded him filming himself and pointing at the “Drinks Free” board.
The internet was pleasantly surprised to see this wholesome moment at the Florida coffee shop. Many couldn’t believe the luck of the shop to have Ricky Martin enter their store. “I’m loving this Ricky Martinaissance,” one Redditor said. Some users asked what drink the singer ordered, which the shop replied was a mango smoothie.
Some users questioned whether the singer actually wrote his own name on the board since the writing style for his name was quite different from the others. Others denied this accusation since you could see on the security camera video that the man had just entered and immediately saw the board. There was no time for him to write down his name. “They wrote names as the halftime show was on but erased someone else once they saw Ricky,” one user explained.
Others used the chance to show their appreciation for the singer, with some users saying that they regretted not being at the Florida coffee shop when it happened. A handful remarked that Ricky Martin seemed to be a very pleasant person. One user even claimed to have met him personally in the past, saying, “I have a Ricky Martin story! Back in the day, around 2004-ish, my husband worked as a bellhop at a Hyatt in our home country and Ricky stayed for a night or so. My husband had the pleasure of carrying his bags for him and his bodyguard tipped my husband with a USD $100 bill.”
