A planned visit to an Italian farm by actress Gwyneth Paltrow has reportedly been canceled after her involvement in a promotional campaign for a luxury Israeli real estate development sparked controversy online. The decision was announced by Livia Giuggioli, who runs the regenerative farming project Quintosapore in Italy’s Umbria region alongside her twin brothers, Alessandro and Nicola. The situation has attracted attention because it combines celebrity endorsements, political activism, and the ongoing debate surrounding the conflict in the Middle East.
The controversy began after Giuggioli posted a video to Instagram explaining why she no longer wanted to host Paltrow at her family’s farm. The video received thousands of likes and comments before spreading to Reddit and other social media platforms, where it generated further discussion. Many users debated both Paltrow’s role in the advertising campaign and Giuggioli’s decision to publicly distance herself from the actress.
In the video, Giuggioli said she has never liked or approved of cancel culture, but believes this is one situation where it is justified. She described Gwyneth Paltrow’s involvement in the Israeli campaign as completely unacceptable and argued that public figures should be held accountable for the projects they choose to promote.
Giuggioli also spoke about her activism, saying that agents and industry figures have advised her not to speak publicly about Gaza, but that she intends to continue doing so regardless. She encouraged people to stop supporting celebrities who back projects she believes are connected to the ongoing conflict and specifically criticized Paltrow’s participation in the campaign.
The controversy centers on Paltrow’s role in promoting 51 PARK, an ultra-luxury residential development in Herzliya, Israel. Developed by Aviv Melisron, the project consists of two 51-story towers overlooking the Mediterranean coast. The campaign was filmed in New York and produced by Israeli agency Why Worry.
Following the announcement, critics questioned why one of Hollywood’s most recognizable celebrities chose to endorse a luxury real estate development at a time when international attention remains focused on the conflicts involving Gaza and Iran.
Giuggioli’s Quintosapore farm is known for promoting biodiversity, biomimicry, and regenerative agriculture. She has been a vocal advocate for Palestinian human rights and has previously criticized public figures she believes have minimized the humanitarian impact of the war in Gaza. In 2025, she also drew attention after tearing up her honorary MBE in protest of President Donald Trump’s state visit to the United Kingdom and what she described as his “poisonous rhetoric.”
Gwyneth Paltrow Faces Online Backlash
The reaction online was largely supportive of Giuggioli and highly critical of Paltrow. Many commenters praised Giuggioli for canceling the visit and for publicly confronting the actress over the advertising campaign. Others argued that celebrities can no longer claim ignorance when accepting high-profile endorsements connected to controversial issues. “Absolutely baller behavior. I’m here to support and cheer her on!” one user wrote.
Many users described Gwyneth Paltrow as privileged and disconnected from ordinary people, with some suggesting she knowingly accepted criticism in exchange for a paycheck. Others pointed to past comments and controversies involving the actress as evidence of what they viewed as a long-standing lack of self-awareness.
Meanwhile, Giuggioli received widespread praise from supporters, who described her response as principled and courageous and applauded her willingness to take a public stance on an issue many celebrities avoid.
