While many student-led anti-ICE demonstrations have remained peaceful, that wasn’t the case at a recent protest in Ohio. What began as a show of opposition quickly escalated when a group of North College Hill students entered a local Kroger and began causing damage inside the store.
Video from the scene shows students knocking items off shelves and tossing beer bottles into the air, creating a hazardous situation for customers who were still shopping at the time. An employee can be heard shouting for the group to leave as they continued moving through the aisles. The individual recording the footage, along with a woman nearby, claimed the students were chanting “F ICE” during the disruption.
The incident underscores how quickly demonstrations can spiral when tensions boil over, shifting the focus from the message to the fallout.
According to Fox19 Now, the individual who took the video said that not only was property damaged, but a customer was injured as well. Thankfully, police are currently investigating the situation. The North College Hill superintendent also responded to what happened. Instead of holding the school responsible, he blamed the students’ parents and said that they should be held accountable. He also sent a statement to the news channel saying, “This video is disturbing and the parents and families of these students should be embarrassed. NCH City will be working with the North College Hill Police Department to identify these students so they can be held accountable for their disorderly behavior.” Hopefully, they will be held accountable.
People Reacting to the Unhinged Ohio Students Storming Kroger
Of course, a lot of people didn’t like what happened in Ohio. Many blamed the students’ behavior on the Left too. “This is what the leftists have done to the youth of America. Turned them all into radical criminals,” one person wrote. Another person said, “Democrats incite Violence when they don’t get their way on Failed Liberal Policies!” More people shared the same belief as someone else wrote, “The left are now pushing kids to run around like gangs, destroying & looting stores and cutting off drivers on open roads all in the name of ‘protesting against ICE.’ There’s something definitely wrong in this country if people can’t see it. We need to band together to protect this country!”
Others wanted all of the students involved to be arrested as one person said, “How is that supposed to protesting against ICE? Protesting in the street is pointless but vandalizing and destroying a business’s property is a criminal act. Lock them all up!” Another person wrote, “DEMOCRATS are turning our children into FERAL ANIMALS! Democrat base… YOU keep voting for this! Hold the School responsible! Hold the Parents responsible! THIS has to Stop! And this is OHIO!” Someone else blamed the teachers as they said, “If you don’t give proper direction & see a proper example for kids they turn into the lawless vandals we’ve seen again & again. Every teen in that mob deserves repercussions. That’s not peaceful protesting & the teachers that instigated this should be held accountable.” Violence is never the solution.
