There have been far too many instances of ICE and police forces in the United States banding together to harass and humiliate people of color. In fact, many protests have been attended as of late to help combat this and provide a safer future moving forward. Unfortunately, not everyone is on the same page, as one Tulsa, Oklahoma, used furniture store employee allegedly tried helping police locate people running away from ICE.

The information comes from a person who claims to volunteer at the store and witnessed the entire situation go down. What’s worse is that, according to the narrative, it’s likely that the woman on the phone with the police was also targeting the person who posted the video.

The video in question was posted to the social media platform TikTok by user @tom.nook53. The owner of the account, whose name is listed simply as Tom Nook, a popular video game character fromthe Animal Crossing series, makes some pretty serious accusations against a used furniture store in Tulsa, Oklahoma called ReStore.

According to the narrative, while near the store, Tom had witnessed several people running out of an establishment in an attempt to flee from ICE. While attempting to help direct these people to a safe location, he alleges that he saw a woman named Robin follow him while on the phone with the police to help point out the direction in which people were running.

Considering that Tom is telling the story from his car and claiming that the situation happened nearly thirty minutes before he started filming, it’s safe to say that he was not kidnapped by agents. However, the entire internet is upset about Robin’s alleged actions and what they mean in regards to what ReStore even stands for.

The irony of what Robin reportedly did was not lost on the community, with one person even responding to the video with, “Did Robin miss the part where Restore is affiliated with Habitat for HUMANITY?!? 🤬” Another person even brought former president Jimmy Carter into the picture, saying, “ReStore?? Habitat for Humanity??? wow how far they have fallen, Jimmy Carter is spinning in his grave.”

It’s thanks to people like Tom that others are able to feel even a modicum of safety when outside of their homes. Hopefully, he is never a part of such a nerve-wracking and dangerous situation again.
