The road to Forza Horizon 6 is looking more enticing with each passing day, and while we are all eager to get our hands on this new racing experience, we still have to wait a bit longer. Yet, that doesn’t mean there isn’t new information about the game out there. As you know, Forza Horizon 6 debuted a new clip focused on map exploration during IGN First, and traffic discourse aside, we realized that this installment could easily get the crown of the best-looking game of 2026.
Forza Horizon 6 Showcases Its Gorgeous Open World
For those who missed it, IGN First released a 9-minute gameplay video of Forza Horizon 6, mainly showcasing the roads of Japan, which are the ones we’ll be exploring once the game goes live. Now, before talking about the beautiful visuals, we need to address the Hummer in the room: traffic.
Many gamers went on millennial gamer mode and started criticizing the lack of traffic in the game, calling it empty, shallow, and every other overused term the video game community uses nowadays. However, the developers confirmed that they turned down the traffic for this specific showcase, so you can all put the pitchforks down now.
With that out of the way, the truth is that Forza Horizon 6 is already looking like the visual king of every other game in 2026, as we don’t really see another title reaching the levels of photorealism that this installment is going for. Yes, we know it might be a bit early to say that, but the scenic gameplay should be enough to convince you, too.
Elements such as reflections, the density of the trees, and even the details on the building make this the most beautiful Forza Horizon title, and one of the best-looking games in recent memory. On top of that, performance seems rock solid, as we couldn’t spot any weird technical hiccups. Yet, that might change with more players and traffic around, but we know that Playground Games excels at optimizing its games, so we shouldn’t worry too much about that.
While this was just the first showcase, we know that IGN will have a month-long coverage for this ambitious new game, so we can expect a few more surprises throughout March. These should be more than enough to quench our racing thirst while we wait for the game’s imminent launch on May 18.
