For the past few days, clips of a particular man posing as a construction worker while going from door to door in apartment buildings in Nevada have been popping up on TikTok. Sometimes he is seen knocking on people’s doors alone and other times he appears with a partner.

@yummy_tay

So i had these to random men come to my apartment last night claiming to be doing construction work in the apartments. I informed my apartments and the apartments wont even notify residents about this because they dont want to send residents to panic smh 🚩

Recently, a woman in Las Vegas said the man and his companion came to her home around 8:30 p.m. while she was away. She was able to see and speak to them through her front door camera. In the footage, he introduced himself as “Andy” and claimed he was informing residents about construction that would supposedly be starting in the apartment complex.

He then asked the woman if she was home so he could explain the details in person, but she told him he could simply explain it through the camera. The man declined, saying “it’s against policy” and that he had “to do it in person.” The two men later walked toward another apartment opposite hers.

Are They Fake Construction Workers?

The resident believes the individuals may have seen her leave the apartment that night to go to the emergency room and were trying to confirm whether anyone else was home. According to her, her boyfriend and children were still inside the apartment at the time.

The next morning, she contacted the apartment leasing office to ask whether any construction work was actually scheduled in the building. She said the office told her there was no construction planned and advised her to call the police.

Around the same time, another Las Vegas resident posted a similar video showing what appeared to be the same man introducing himself as a construction worker while standing outside her apartment door. In that clip, he appeared to be alone.

Netizens Are Divided About the Nevada Situation

On TikTok, many viewers felt something was off about the two men and did not believe they were actually construction workers. “Genuinely wonder what his intentions were.. scary!” one person said. “Maintenance don’t even work that late,” another commented. “I’m confused how does this scam work,” a third wrote. “You’re smart for not trusting him,” another viewer added.

However, a few people believed nothing suspicious was happening. “They’re just door to door salesmen,” one comment read. Another added, “People are taking it way out of context. Hes saying construction cause they are doing fiber installs under ground and they are selling the services D2D (door to door).”
