A video shared on social media is drawing attention after a group of women detained at a Florida facility described what they say are poor living conditions while awaiting immigration processing.
The clip, posted on TikTok by an account called HelpusfightICE, shows several women at the Baker County Detention Center speaking about their experiences inside the facility. The video has since gained traction online, where users have been debating the claims.
In the video, the women say they are still waiting on their deportation cases and claim they are being “treated like criminals.” They also describe what they say are issues with access to hygiene supplies and clothing, alleging they are sometimes required to wear men’s clothing and use worn or limited materials.
One woman in the video says she has lived in the United States for 46 years and claims she was transferred through more than 30 immigration facilities in a single month. During that time, she alleges she often slept on the floor and lacked adequate protection from the cold.
The Baker County Detention Center, which opened in 2009, has been used to house immigration detainees. Public records show that complaints have been filed over the years regarding conditions at the facility, including concerns about medical care and sanitation.
Public Reaction to Detention Center Video
The video has sparked strong reactions online, with many users expressing concern about the conditions described.
“I can’t tell you how much this breaks my heart,” one commenter wrote.
Others criticized the reported conditions, questioning how detention facilities are managed. “We are paying for this, and they can’t provide basic necessities,” another user wrote.
Some commenters also focused on broader concerns about immigration detention policies, while others questioned whether the claims in the video reflect conditions across all facilities.
The video continues to circulate online as discussions grow around detention conditions and how facilities are monitored.
