A Willow Creek apartment resident in Arizona says she has been without reliable hot water for months, leaving the woman and her household frustrated and exhausted. According to the tenant, the problem initially affected all the sinks and showers in her unit, though some improvement occurred as the weather warmed up. Despite that, she says she still has to run all faucets simultaneously for at least 20 minutes to get lukewarm water, and her shower remains completely cold.

Haven’t had hot water in over 3 months, leasing office refuses to give any updates as to why

The resident shared her story on the r/mildlyinfuriating subreddit, where it quickly gained traction. Her post has earned nearly 3,000 upvotes and more than 700 comments. The post included a video showing her interactions with apartment management, giving readers a firsthand look at how her complaints were handled or ignored.

The Arizona woman says her repeated complaints to the leasing office produced little more than temporary fixes and vague assurances. “Initially they insisted there was no problem and that maintenance had checked everything,” she explained, adding that maintenance staff often confirmed in person that the water was not hot. Later, the leasing office reportedly replaced or checked the boiler and claimed her apartment was farthest from the source, which supposedly explained the slow warm-up. Even after running the water for over an hour, she says nothing changed.

After continued frustration, the apartment complex offered a $200 rent credit, which the tenant accepted at the time, interpreting it as acknowledgment of the issue. However, she later discovered the work order had been closed without any real repairs being completed. “Apparently they just closed out the order and weren’t working on it during that period like I thought,” she said. She is now back in discussions with the leasing office, demanding that the hot water be properly restored or that she receive additional compensation.

The Arizona woman described her struggle as particularly challenging due to her busy schedule. She is a full-time student, works more than 30 hours a week, manages multiple health issues requiring frequent appointments, and cares for pets. She also disclosed that she has PTSD, which makes repeated confrontations with the leasing office especially stressful. “I get very angry to the point I worry I will start a physical fight or get myself in trouble if I’m not in the right headspace when working with them,” she said.

Reddit users largely sided with the tenant, expressing frustration at the apartment staff. “Why are they being so rude? If this was actually three months of no hot water they should be extremely apologetic. Jesus, I’m so glad I’m not renting anymore… I had a plumbing issue and had a plumber the next day,” one user wrote. Others suggested she contact a lawyer, while some advised her to move if possible.

The post resonated with readers because many renters have faced similar issues. The combination of a common problem, alleged mismanagement, and the tenant’s personal challenges drew sympathy and outrage online, showing the frustrations that can arise when basic apartment services fail.
